Technically my dad's idea. Essentially we drove to Fort Smith (closest HD) last night, got it and re-drove the trails today to remove the deadfall (and moved the rounds to block the bypass that people had created)

This is what 30" tires looks like on the EZ Way. Not sure how the other routes looked b/c we didnt want to FO.

Is there an bypass to the water forging? Not super interested in all the extra maintenance of being a boat.
There are lots of water crossings. It's just part of the Ozarks trail system. I don't think they are avoidable but will to defer to @OmahaBravo on the exact routes he has planned.

the river crossings are unavoidable but they shouldnt be at cab depths unless they get a ton of rain.
Its the mud holes (read: dirty water, not soupy mud) that will be difficult.
First off, Friday's trail (1st day) water/muholes are not a concern. We will pass through creeks and shallow mud holes but unless they get a TON of rain, at worst your hubs will get wet.
Saturday's trail, the one I think everyone will enjoy most, is the only time we had water coming into the floor of our sxs (stock 2019 TRE rzr w stock 30" tires). I should note that the pic i posted of me in waders, we did NOT take the sxs into that mudhole. We took the bypass which for our trucks might require spotting but its 100% doable.
You being on 37s with a lift, theres a good chance your cab might not ever touch water. again, depends on the amount of rain they get.
On that note, i documented the water levels of all the measuring stations around the area we will be and took pictures of every water crossing/deep mudhole we will encounter.
While this isnt enough to determine actual depth... it is enough to determine if i need to go check things out the saturday prior to determine trip feasibility.
I'll get the documentation posted as soon as I can.
You laugh at this suggestion... I actually carried a submersible pump and a milk crate on the trip this past April. We had the same idea. Cant go around? Drain 'em.
We never used them. I can certainly pack it, the milk crate, and extension cord and i'll already have my 2kWh ecoflow.
The drawback is... one of them is pretty big so i'm not sure what itd take to drain. Good news is that i can recharge my ecoflow at 800w with my engine running.
The good news in ALL of this... NONE of the mudholes we will encounter on the trails i've planned had sketchy bottoms. I'd drive through any one of them as they were on my pre-run trip. If we drain them... might not even need lockers/low range.

Here are the water levels when I pre-ran them Dec 21-23 and (when I ran them in April 2025). We will actually cross the Little Piney on the second day (Saturday). We cross it a few times, actually
These levels are a good litmus test to see if the second day's trail will be feasible. Regardless, we shouldnt have to cancel outside of a major flooding event but it might affect what we do on day two.
Buffalo near Ponca: 3.5' (4.7')
Buffalo near Boxley: 1.9' (3')
Frog Bayou: 2.7 (3.8')
Mulberry River: 1.4' (2.9')
Spadra Creek: 2.7' (3.1')
Little Piney: 2.4' (3.1')
Big Piney: 0.75' (2.2')

Alright maybe this is a dumb question, but have any if you ever tried actually sealing up a cab for mudholes? Do late model trucks seal up well enough? Ive played around a lot in mudholes.... In old Chevys and XJs. Didnt care at all then. Never been in anything deeper than rocker panels with a late model. Hub to fender on my truck is 28" front and rear on 37" toyos, im sure id be fine but im curious.

Restating this since there's been a few mention concerns about water ingress
Fridays trail:
- Narrow is some spots (we're in a forest)
- Spotting may be required
- deep water/mudholes are not a concern. One or two MIGHT get up to the hubs. Deepest we encountered was a large (~5' diameter) pothole on the trail
- a few spots where you will need to pick a good line due to driving over some rocks
Saturday's trail,
- Spotting is likely not needed. Its tight but mostly brush you're avoiding, not 10" diameter trees
- expect a few water/mudhole depths to exceed 30".
- one of the deepest has a tight bypass that is doable even for a 3/4ton
- the other does not have a bypass (its the photo above showing the rzr coming towards the camera and leaning driver)
- i've driven through both, twice this past year. zero water in cab.
NONE of the water areas should be deep enough to cause issue with our BJBs.
If my front seat is empty, anyone not wanting to run their truck on Saturday can ride with me.
Regarding cab sealing:
I used Gorilla brand flex tape to seal the one grommet that was sliced by the PO installing a wire into the cab. This worked perfectly. Other than that, everything on my truck is stock and has proven water tight both times i've ran the trail we will do on Saturday.
Added 1/12/26: Just now thought of this... if your truck had the foldable plastic storage you have four holes in your cab floor. I took the storage out and just drove the bolts back through. I dont believe i had any issue but i also have it covered by a piece of plywood.
If you dont have bolts in these spots, those holes go into your cab unless you've sealed them. Just one more spot on your truck to check.
