Might come out to meet everyone. Big no from me on taking my truck into the woods. Now, my KRX would not be a problem. I have been on those trails several times. I will likely be recovering from a medical procedure so even a SxS might be a no. Let us know if there is a venue you organize to meet, greet and eat - even Oark Cafe is great.

Sorry yall, just got the last components I've been waiting on so i've been working the past few days to get orders out...
I've updated the first post with new information. Check it out.

If you are coming on this trip, please post and advise where you plan to stay (Turner Bend/Hotel/AirBnB/in a van, down by the river). This will help me plan out the evening meals as well as coordinate evening activities. FYI - i am going to finalize the meals/food/activities between Christmas and New Year with the information on this thread. So, lemme know!

I am planning to go pre-run some trails next week so give me a bit more time on the maps.

The electric blanket is the ultimate cheat code for cold nights in a tent. No doubt. Gets the job done without the need for dragging out the diesel heater.

But it's the freezing numb hands and feet when breaking down camp that is no fun on a really cold morning.

I wouldn't say wimp, just older and probably wiser then most of us. I agree grabbing cold metal sucks. I have some thinner water resistant not proof gloves I love. When I rolled the fj cruiser with out doors in the cold rain of North Carolina they made the trip bearable. I have a nice down comforter that when sleeping under it at home I can almost break a sweat. It did good In the high 20 degree mornings when I was there.

Got my dad going with me next week to pre-run the trails and i'm stoked about this trip.

However....

yall need to let me know if yall are in or not and where youre staying. I'm kicking around the idea of a group supper but its contingent upon how many and where yall are staying.

I'm sorry for the delayed response. I'll have to be out for now however there is a chance that I'll be able to head down the day of the actual trail run. It will be a game time decision and will be a really long day if I do. Following.

I definitely would like to go. I'm getting foot surgery 1/16 and I kind of wait for the go from the doc (should be about four week I think) before I commit. It would kind of suck to be wandering around in the mud in an ortho boot.

and... since you are coming... this would be the perfect trip to test out NarrowTrax. Depending on how the trails look this next week as i pre-run them, I might do it. Being in the winter the foliage shouldnt be as encroaching as i've seen it this past year.
