Tell me about your favorite whiskey or bourbon

That's truly incredible. Congratulations on getting so many amazing bottles.

Do you typically open bottles to enjoy or are you mostly just collecting? If you're drinking through your collection, I can't imagine how you'd pick what to enjoy on any given day. I have a fraction of what you have and I try to not open bottles until I've finished already open ones. Or, if I have friend over, we'll crack bottles all based on a theme or distillery.
Mostly Collecting/Investing. I have been known to break open a rarer one here n there. At my cousin's funeral we toasted him with a 15 year pappy.

So with all those you've had, if you had to list your top 5?
Or how about top 5: 90-100 proof
Top 5: 100+ proof

Got a bottle of the Blanton's Takara Gold. Had a friend who took the family to Japan for Spring break hunt one down for me. It's supposed to be 2 years older than the normal Gold label you can get stateside.

The metal fabrication will cost several , several better bottles

Found a couple bottles on our trip. Haven't tried the Woodinville yet, but local Washington distillery anf they were less than $40 a bottle.

Feedback on the Heaven Hill?

Heaven Hill seems to be copying Buffalo Trace who released a similar for finish under their Charter Oak brand. Chinquapin Oak imparts butterscotch, crème brûlée, toasted nut, chocolate, and coffee notes, creating a bold mouthfeel and layered finish.

Tasting notes from Breaking Bourbon:

NOSE
Rich oak | Pecan pie | Berry compote | Thin vanilla | Toast

palate
Leather | Tobacco leaf | Honey bun | Oak | Green peppercorn | Faint raspberry & blackberry mix | Candied pecan

finish
Rich oak | White peppercorn spice | Honey candy | Peanut brittle | Short

For comparison, the tasting notes for the Charter Oak are:

Nose: Reviewers find a mix of cherry, spearmint, light caramel, and distinct floral or herbal notes.

Palate: The experience is described as having a soft, creamy texture with flavors of honey, fresh herbs, and a subtle, sweet woodiness. It is frequently described as having a "green" or musty, yet pleasant, flavor profile, which differs from the intense spice of other oak varieties.

Finish: A long, lingering, and often warming finish characterized by baking spices and subtle dark chocolate.

Not sure about the grain to glass, but the regular HH B&B is one of my go to’s for a daily drinker. Enjoy. 👍
