I didn't get the email but I did read up on that kit. For me it's not worth the $$$$ right now, plus to get to the 1GB range there's more than a good chance that's going to be all new hardware (on the dishy side : dual beam>??) needed to get those speeds.

I saw it come thru a little while ago but also noticed it came with a high price tag which deterred me from even looking at it.

What we currently have perfectly fits our needs—there's no need to fix what isn't broken.

What features or improvements are so significant that they justify a cost four times higher than the original product?

Just got around to installing the Savage quick release mounts. Pics are not the greatest as its getting dark.

It's the same mount as the fire extinguisher mount with a Starlink plate welded to it. I was hoping it would have a tighter tonlrence than the fire extinguisher mounts. It has about a quarter inch of slop total side to side and maybe an eighth inch the other way. Love the idea but the OutCamp mount was rock solid.

OutCamp mount, I would recommend this to anyone. Solid mount and low to the rack. It's three pieces. The main mount and the two stabilizer plates at the ends. 3D printed, but done well.

Quick release base mounted to the rack. I mounted the release knob to the back as it was to hard to get to with the Mini installed and tight to the back window.

Quick release cable is highly recommended. Once you bolt the kickstand to the mount its hard to get your hands in there to unplug and plug it.

What I don't like about it the most vs the OutCamp mount it is raised it almost and 1.5" higher. It is still below the factory antenna bumps, but before it was flush with the cab. It screams "come take me, I'm a Starlink". The other mount was way more incognito.

I have never noticed this blue flashing light before. I have always thought it was dumb there was no way to tell it's on other than the app.

Used the hose clamp kit that came with the mounts to install it on my SxS. I will get some billet mounts, but this is the location I plan on running it. The extra height actually helps clear the roof bump in this application. I have a small power station we take with us to charge our RC cars and drone's when at the dunes and Moab. I will run the Amazon special cable to run the dish so I don't have to worry about the car's battery. Teather the iPad Pro to the Starlink and intercom system and it should be good to go. Streaming music, maps and Tremor Forum updates in the middle of BFE.

I have not driven the truck yet so I don't know if it whistles or rattles to much, if at all. I hope it doesn't but I hate how much it moves for hard core wheeling and a ruff ridding truck on concrete freeways. I will get the boat out of storage next week and see where I can mount the base. I also ordered the metal mount that replaces the stock kick stand to help with theft. it should be here by the end of the week. This part will not take the slop out of the set up. It's in the base to mount interface. One more option out there if you plan on moving your dish a lot.

I honestly don’t remember where to find your plan speeds but I remember seeing somewhere that my 50GB Roam plan was 50mbps down and I think 10 up. I get 10-15% over when flat which is in line with typical over-provisioning.

Some observations from the last few days:

Not sure what changed or when, but I can no longer find any mention of plan speeds in my account, and after the latest update, I’m seeing significantly higher speeds. Speed test below was taken doing 80mph down the interstate on Friday with it mounted flat on the glass. Have been consistently hitting these speeds or even slightly higher since the update. Highest I remember seeing was 260+ down.

Before the update, it never hit more than about 60-70Mbps down and 10-15 up. This was consistent whether at rest, in motion, and across three states. The plan details also previously said it was provisioned for up to 50Mbps down and 25Mbps up. That verbiage now seems to be gone. There is mention of higher speeds in uncongested areas, but it never went above 60-70 down before the update, even in the middle of nowhere Nevada last month.

Not sure what to think of all this but I'll take the higher speeds. Just hope they don't make any changes that consistently reduce speeds without notice. I will say I've been super impressed with how low the latency has been from the start.

Could be! The speed increase immediately after the update leads me to believe it was firmware locked before, especially with how consistent it was, but I have no proof of that.

Driving to the beach from Atlanta to 30a I've gotten speeds as high as my mounted residential dish like you at 260+ and as low as 20 lol. I sporadically checked it and various times.

So when I bought my Tremor I was so excited I forgot one thing. A rear sliding window. I didn't even think about it until it was paid for and I was home. I was in a buck fever type of trance I think. So here I am wanting a SmartCap and a way to run a star link cable, both which would have benefited from a rear slider. Let's say you are a joker like me, where is the best way to route a cable into the truck other than through a door (potentially wearing a gasket?)?

There are also some reasonably sized ports behing the driver rear seat at the cabin that you can pass cables/wires through. These ports are protected with rubber groumets. I cannot recall if the passenger rear also has one? These sits lower to the floorboard if you go looking for them.

Well it's time to crawl under the truck. There is a grommet that ends up under the Passenger side rear seat by the power inverter. Not a super simple pass through BUT really easy to use for a single wire. If you need a bigger bundle of wires out, there's an area under the passenger side foot well using a grommet as well.
