Oil Shortage is a Real Thing

I bought in-store for the same price. Also bought a motorcraft filter at the same time. Will compare to a dealer-purchased filter. I will post any irregularities i find.

Any more details you can share on the counterfeit filters . . .

6.7 new air filter wrapped in plastic?

Did they change the air filters recently? I purchased a FA2031 Motorcraft filter from a 3rd party seller on Walmart (although shipped by Walmart) that came in what appears to be a genuine cardboard box but the filter inside is wrapped in plastic and doesn't have writing stamped on it.

Does this look like a genuine motorcraft fuel filter?

I ordered this off amazon from a reputable seller and it has fomoco stamped on it but the filter looks a little off. This is my first time changing the filter in this truck so i have not actually seen a current generation filter in person until now. Thanks!

With shortages around, I may give the oil a test before changing it at 7500. The old truck went a comfortable 7500 miles between changes. That was even towing 3000- 4000 miles out of the total. This truck has a sad 1500 miles towing.

I wouldn't by anything from Walmart online.

All 3rd party sellers and a few people have gotten counterfeit filters from them.

You want to make sure it is sold and shipped by Walmart (same goes for Amazon). If it is from a 3rd party vendor it will say so in this location, and you should definitely be wary of the legitimacy. The oil and filters I bought were delivered to me from my local store same day for free as I have Walmart+ (thanks to my AMEX benefit).
