iPhone 12 Pro - iOS 14.4 - Sync3 v3.4.20196For those that have this problem. Can you list your model of phone? I had problems with my older iPhone but not with the new one.
Agreed. I get the same garbled audio while using BT and low audio with CarPlay. I didn't have this issue in my '19 F-250. I'm starting to aggressively shake trees at Ford....Yesterday I was using Bluetooth on my iPhone X running 14.4. The audio coming from my phone through the truck speakers was incredibly garbled. I switched to a usb CarPlay connection but then nobody I called could hear me because of the low volume microphone issue. My wife says I sounded a million times better and more clear on my 2019 f-150 with the same phone and same sync system. Weird... that tells me that Ford has a quality problem in the hardware used on these super duties.
Correct. I came from a 2016 F150 and it sounded great with the same phone I use now. I believe it is an issue with the Sync3 Build. That sucks Dude, aside from the Sync issue, my truck has been perfect. I spoke to my dealer about this issue on Monday this week. They're doing some investigating and will call me when they're ready for me to bring it in.Ok, my 2020 has been into the dealer twice for this microphone issue. the service manager told me that ford has steps to fix this. 1-they reflash computer, 2-replace "module" (i just had this done and will pick truck up today. 3-replace the entertainment unit. They have no fix after that. That is when I will tell them to buy this truck back.
I had an undiagnosed fluid leak under the hood. I had both rear door jams not painted correctly. Mine was built right when they went back to work from covid shutdown.
Just picked up yesterday - same issue. iPhone 12pro running 14.4. Amazing truck but if the single best productivity feature doesn’t work I’m going to be bummed. For those that have this problem. Can you list your model of phone? I had problems with my older iPhone but not with the new one.
I did, didn't change a thing (I have an 11Pro). At first, the issue didn't bother me because I thought it might be a simple fix, but after trying as much as I can without actually replacing parts/modules, it's pissing me off. I spoke to the dealer and they're contacting Ford about it, but in the meantime, CarPlay is useless and Bluetooth inadvertently disconnects and/or sounds like sh*t on both ends.Just picked up yesterday - same issue. iPhone 12pro running 14.4. has anyone tried removing your phone from Bluetooth and only using CarPlay? When I test drove I specifically tested this on two calls. My wife thought I was quiet. The second one was fine. I’ve added Bluetooth connection since I picked it up and now have the issue. Wondering if it is a conflict when connected to both....?
Either way - very, very frustrating with a $80k truck.

I'm not the type to sit and wait, so I've contacted Ford directly, but I don't see a resolution in the near future.
Edit to add:
I contacted Ford about this, through a survey they emailed and at this email address:

This is the email I wrote and suggest everyone here that's experiencing this issue send the same or similar email to the email address above:
I’m experiencing a significant issue with the SYNC 3 System in my 2021 F-350 TREMOR (1FT8W3BN1MEC23944). I’m using an Apple 11Pro and while using CarPlay during phone calls, the audio at the distant end (as heard by the person I’m speaking with) is very low/inaudible. I’ve performed the usual resets, etc., and nothing resolves this problem. This issue is widespread amongst TREMOR owners, as it’s discussed openly online, but doesn’t appear to be present in the F-150.
Also, Bluetooth audio is garbled/inaudible on both ends and it inadvertently disconnects and/or fails to connect upon startup. On two occasions, I’ve been forced to perform a Master Reset of the SYNC System to get my phone to reconnect and as you’re aware, this factory defaults the system and all info/setup is lost. MAJOR PITA.
I’ve spoken to my dealer (Family Ford of Enfield) and they have no idea what’s happening and said there’s no TSB or other documentation that provides a solution or acknowledges this widespread issue as a problem. Please do something about this….quickly.

While not laying on the charger, it worked properly with Bluetooth, CarPlay or both? I tried that as well and it made no difference.Thanks.
When I used it this morning it was working properly. The only difference is that I didn’t have the phone lying on the QI charger...
I’ll keep playing and see if I can get it isolated. I have an apple mag case and I’m wondering if the QI electromagnetic field or case is impacting one of the phone components and driving everything haywire. I can’t imagine but I’ve also seen some pretty strange things on older iPhones...
I will follow up with Ford as you recommend above.
Thanks.
