if I remember reading correctly @BroncOh is not doing well health wise. @Rodd187 was that your post?

also if you remove the o-Ring on your def cap it will all air to pass without any suction issues. When towing, you go through def quicker, so you do “suck it down” and the atmospheric pressure may not come quick enough to keep it from sucking the tank.

I had this issue last summer when we road tripped to Southeast South Dakota. However it did not create a permanent problem for me, and it was a simple solution/fix.

I would be curious if you could positive pressure the tank to expand it back out. Also my experience was. 35’ toy hauler at 70-75 -/+ mph from Washington state to South Dakota.

@modified, @Modman or @legmar do you have a way to reach him?

Correct, @Rodd187 had been in contact with him twice in the past two months. I texted him two weeks ago but received no response.

Are you saying that even after removing the o-ring you still had vacuum issues?
 
I took the DEF cap off last night to verify the vacuum and released the suction. Have not driven it and went out this morning and quite a bit of vacuum suction again. Just drilled mine out. I followed the diagram and used the 3/32 bit. Super easy to drill through the plastic and it’s very easy to tell when you’ve drilled through. Cleaned it out and used my mouth to blow air and verify the passage was clear. Looking forward to seeing if this solves it 👍🏼

No vacuum issue after removal. A thinner ring will do the trick as well.
 
what about the Diesel cap? Does that need to be drilled as well?

I believe the illustration says 29mm. You’ll feel when you break through. Go slow as the plastic is pretty soft.

I’ve never had any vacuum issue with the diesel cap.

I do not think it was supposed to be there, but it is what was recommended... I never experienced any suction every time I took off the cap, so idk?

For what Incan see on the DEF tank I don’t see any issues. My DEF cap appears to clearly show a hole. I did notice when I removed the DEF cap my gasket was loose, not all the way down so maybe that was also allowing it to not create a vacuum

It’s also been a bit since I’ve talked to him. I’ll make a point to reach out this week.
 
I took a peek at mine yesterday to see if there was a hole in it. It was impossible for me to see with my own eyes (with cheaters on), but when I held a flashlight up against the main body while peering into the "ziplock" hole it became visible.

I was at 60% DEF and decided to top off before heading out to Oklahoma for the dove hunt today.

I was able to put 2.8 gallons of DEF in the tank before 100% full. Dirty math says 7.5 gallons tank at 60% left plus 2.8 gallons filled is in theory only 7.24 gallons.

Not sure if the capacity is a good indicator of how much a tank may have shrunk or not. My guess is the computer purposely shows 100% calculates at slightly less than the 7.5 gallons as a safety measure 🤷🏻‍♂️
