2023 MY Super Duty Order/Schedule/Build dates from Ford...

If your build has not locked you can change from 7.3 to 6.7 - you will not go to the back of the line - you will just get in line for a 6.7 vs 7.3 - ask you dealer to get on the system and see if they can make the change and if so how it might impact your delivery. GLWD
How do I now if my build is locked?

I can’t believe they’re still taking orders. This year is going to be the shortest production run they’ve ever had. How do you produce that many in only a few months. Who’s gonna get canceled at the end of the year? That’s the question.
Yeah something doesn’t add up, from what I’ve seen job 2 production is supposed to start March. How are they doing all the job 1 orders before that? Or am I just misunderstanding how this works.

I was thinking about that too because it's such a significant price difference. My thoughts were; everyone I know that has gone gas has always wondered if they should have gone Powerstroke. I haven't met anyone with a Powerstroke that wonders if they should have gone gas.
I went with the 6.7HO. I don't have anything yet that requires 1200ft/lb to move, BUT maybe one day I will, AND because I like the way it sounds, and that makes me happy.
Trucks run on diesel.

This is my 1st new truck that I have ordered (only took 48 years..lol) and curious on the process. I ordered my 7.3 F250 Tremor the second day of the banks but now I am regretting not getting the 6.7 diesel. Can I change my engine type on my order and what does that do to my place in line (if there is one)?

Any guidance or help would be great.
The general consensus here seems to be that if you’re going to tow heavy with some frequency, diesel is the better option. As some have mentioned, 10-12k towing is not a big deal for the 7.3, heavier then that with some frequency diesel is a better option. Then too, some just like all that extra torque. Gas is simpler and cheaper if you don’t need the extra towing capabilities. If not, the price differential buys allot of gasoline.

Yeah.... I read that totally wrong... Especially if he meant "know". Lol oh well.
Yes sir, I meant to type Know, not now. I am just frustrated with the whole ordering process and my dealer not giving me any information on my order. I would think they would want to help me figure this out since they have been through it before. At this rate, I may just buy a new 2022 Tremor and be done with the stress.

This would be my first Diesel and just wondering what the added Maintenance cost would be for the 6.7?
I probably take it farther than you need to but best practices in my mind:

  • You need to be fairly militant about fuel filter changes - at least 1x/year
  • You need to keep the tank more than half full to avoid condensation/water in fuel
  • Oil changes are much more expensive. My 7.3 PS holds 15 quarts. Running Rotella T6 full synthetic, that is over $120 in oil. By the time you throw in a filter, I'm about $150 for an oil change doing it myself
  • Fuel is more expensive
    • Depending on where you live, you may need to add anti-gel in the winter
    • I run Hotshots additive for the injectors since ultra-low sulfur took away all of the lubricity from the fuel
  • They don't like starting in the really cold, and for the longevity of your motor, you should be using a block heater in those conditions
  • They are less tolerant of repeated short trips than gas motors... you should be getting them out on the highway and running them up to operating temperature for some time.
  • You have to screw around with DEF
  • You have to deal with regens
Maintenance on my gas truck? Change the oil at 5k, try to keep the tank more than 1/2 full, change the air filter when it seems like it's been a while, and run it.

There has been some issues (not necessarily widespread) with the CP4 and fuel systems on the new diesels - a new fuel system on a 6.7 will run you $10k-ish. You can get a whole new 7.3 crate motor for $7k.

Just keep in mind they are only a week into production.

They could have skipped MY23 and taken the time to finish out the 22's right and open up 24's with the 23MY as the 24 with an early run

Does anyone know or heard if there are and “option” or ”add no’s” that would delay the build on a Lariat Tremor?

I don't think there's been enough 2023 production at this point to know.

I've heard scattered reports of scheduling, I've not heard of anybody being issued a VIN or seeing a '23 yet.

Sort of a weird question, but I ordered my 23 F250 King Ranch Tremor in the Azure Gray Tri Coat and I was wondering if it’ll still have the 2 tone. I saw the pictures floating around of the 2 tone Antimatter Blue KR T, but couldn’t find anything definitive about the Azure. I figured if someone knew, it would be on here.

Does not look like it. Going by the order guide and the online configuration the two tone will not be available with the chrome package. Azure grey will only be available with the chrome package for the 23 super duty so that means no two tone for azure grey.

If someone has another way of looking/reading the order guide differently please correct me.

Someone on FB just noticed on their build sheet that the price of winch went up $1000 suddenly, from price level 315 to price level 320. The destination went up from 1795 to 1895, but 1K more for a winch is a big one. I wonder why.

Glad I'm with Granger and will be price protected.

Well, thats beside the point, someone ordering with Granger today would end up with a 4K priced winch from Ford. Why would a warn winch go up in price by 25%? Are they releasing a new design for 23s? It a huge increase, makes no sense.
