2023 MY Super Duty Order/Schedule/Build dates from Ford...

How many can they build per day?
This is a direct quote from the same article:

"From January through November this year, Super Duty production averaged approximately 26,000 to 27,000 vehicles per month. So orders taken in just over one month represent five to six months of production."
With that, I think we are all going to be waiting quite a while. It will be worth the wait.

This is my 1st new truck that I have ordered (only took 48 years..lol) and curious on the process. I ordered my 7.3 F250 Tremor the second day of the banks but now I am regretting not getting the 6.7 diesel. Can I change my engine type on my order and what does that do to my place in line (if there is one)?

Any guidance or help would be great.

That is a great question. I am curious what the answer will be.

I believe you can change anything on your order until you have a VIN assigned. I remember reading somewhere that if you do make a big change like that, it's basically putting in a new order and you're to the back of the invisible line with the "new" order.

Going to the back of the line now could add many months to the wait. That would suck.

Well that is what I am afraid of. I wish there was a way to know for sure!

That is not what I wanted to hear... I was optimistically hoping I could get my truck by May.

kinda.... if you don't change trim level you are good and the order is the same. (i.e., XLT, Lariat, King, Platy, would all be trim level changes). Options are fine to change unless you have an assigned vin. The only time changing an option would hurt you is if you have a priority code 2. Priority codes 10-19 are what you typically get from the dealership once your order is placed. I would expect most dealers assigned new orders a 19. As your order gets older, you move down the ranks to the best priority code they can give you which is a 10. 2 is reserved for the zone (regional) manager to assign and would go to vehicles waiting abnormally long or passed over a few times due to commodity constraints. This is why changing an option is potentially hurtful once you have a priority of 2. Unless the dealer specifically request to the zone manager to re-instate priority 2, you go back to a 10.

Good to know as I’m still on the fence with my engine choice as well….
I'm going 7.3 and ain't looking back. I test drove both and didn't like how the diesel felt. It shifted really hard compared to the 7.3 with the same miles. Plus, I won't tow heavy enough to justify the cost.

I only tow about 12k a few times a month. I do drive roughly 20k miles a year so I’m just torn on which way to go here. 12k is not problem for the 7.3 and the simplicity is so appealing. Not to mention the absolute ridiculous cost of diesel fuel right now. It’s just stupid….

I was thinking about that too because it's such a significant price difference. My thoughts were; everyone I know that has gone gas has always wondered if they should have gone Powerstroke. I haven't met anyone with a Powerstroke that wonders if they should have gone gas.
I went with the 6.7HO. I don't have anything yet that requires 1200ft/lb to move, BUT maybe one day I will, AND because I like the way it sounds, and that makes me happy.

I ordered the 7.3 as well but just wonder about the long term value of the 6.7 and how it will last longer

My 22 was a 7.3 and I ordered my 23 with the same motor. About 50% of the 13k miles I put on my '22 (before selling it for a $10k profit) were towing. I never had any regrets, and loved the much simpler and more affordable maintenance of having a gas motor around. I have a 7.3 powerstroke and I am shit full of diesel maintenance.

Plus, whenever I have old gas from mowers, or from the boat sitting all winter, I can siphon it out and dump it in the truck.

This would be my first Diesel and just wondering what the added Maintenance cost would be for the 6.7?

If your build has not locked you can change from 7.3 to 6.7 - you will not go to the back of the line - you will just get in line for a 6.7 vs 7.3 - ask you dealer to get on the system and see if they can make the change and if so how it might impact your delivery. GLWD

Per Detroit Free Press

Customer orders for the 2023 Super Duty now exceed 245,000 trucks, the company said Thursday.
I can’t believe they’re still taking orders. This year is going to be the shortest production run they’ve ever had. How do you produce that many in only a few months. Who’s gonna get canceled at the end of the year? That’s the question.
