Do the XLT tremors have push start or keyed cylinders to crank the truck?

My Pheasant XLT is push button but it’s an XLT Premium, I’m not sure if that makes a difference.

I did not order the premium package. I guess I’m lower than a pheasant.

That would make you a quail maybe?

Hahaha. All joking aside, anyone on here with an XLT without premium package answer if it’s keyed or push button start? If not I’ll look up the premium package on Fords website and see what’s included.

I looked on the ford website and did not see the key type listed.

As mentioned above the push button appears to be included on the Premium Package…. I’m feeling slightly less Pheasant-ish right now.

Yep. The standard equipment doesn’t list the key type.

You have moved up. Maybe a real key helps deter the thieves since it’s so lowly.

TBH it actually might help deter theives if it’s semi-mechanical. I know a lot of these thefts are done almost purely by capturing or cloning signals. Maybe a mechanical key switch makes it just slightly harder.

My lariat value had a key so I’m assuming the premium or ultimate packages seem to come with the push button start.

Yeah, for the 20-22 model year at least, base and Lariat Value had the physical key, Ultimate (as well as KR, Platinum, and Limited) have the proximity key/push button start.

2023+ XLT Premium and above all have push button start.
