Yes, and I hate that.

I appreciate features that improve the performance, capability, AND comfort of the truck. I hunt/fish/tow/work my trucks, but I have found that the higher trim trucks do all those things just as well as the lower trim trucks. The only downside, for me, is you can’t escape all the stupid grill/badging/placards designed to tell others what you’re driving. I would have paid to eliminate that. That stupid tramp-stamp on the tailgate leaves a bunch of holes behind if you remove it, and there are no cheap solutions for the front grill either.

The Raptor approach was much less irritating. All you needed to undo all the “Look at me!!” graphics and placards was a heat-gun, some fishing line, and time to remove it all. Now the higher trim trucks are branded for life unless you want to spend about $4,000 at the bodyshop.

Thats why we opted for Lariat Ultimate. Nicer interior without all the Platinum trim bling. I have heard the resale on the Platinum is worth going that route but I liked the blacked out trim on our BAP (Black Appearance Package) on our Lariat Ultimate.

Sounds like the 2025 trim levels have all changed so I dont even know what is what anymore...

I do have some guilt smashing the truck around on dirt trails... which I would feel a little less about with an XLT, despite XLTs also being crazy expensive. Gone are the days of cheap trucks!

Seeing as you have a '25 MY, the Lariat wouldn't have leather anyway, they put their "Active X" fake leather in Lariats starting with the '25 models, IIRC.
