Ahh, sounds like you would be a good candidate then! The supercharger whine is nice and the torque is there. The cost is quite high, $10k for the kit, I spent another $1k on a better tune, and you probably need another $200 in shop supplies, tools, fluids, etc. If youre getting it installed its probably another $3k+, but if you get it installed at a dealer to can maintain a 3 year 36k mile warranty.I own a gen2 lightning and love the sound of the supercharger, I do not plan on drag racing, more for show and occasionally will be pulling, thanks
As I said earlier, the install was pretty difficult due to the complexity as well as the poor instructions.
Initially I was VERY disappointed with the results, it really only did anything at WOT, normal driving it felt stock, which some people may like. The 5 star tune I have eases up on torque management, changes the trans tune (I dont think the Whipple calibration touches the transmission?), and raises the rev limit, and runs maybe 2 more pounds of boost.
Still, the truck doesn't feel like a 700+ HP truck to me, maybe my expectations are too high. I feel like my bolt on tuned gen 2 raptor might have been faster.
Working on getting a dyno appointment and maybe buy a dragy to see how fast it is.
The first time the truck spun all 4 37s from a stop was pretty epic though.
That said, its tough on gas, 93 octane tanks are like $170 these days, and the tires get abused.
Im borderline on the regret side, it was a shitload of money and work and it is modestly impressive. It does tow like a beast though, and I went from a Raptor to a Tremor because I tow, so here we are.
Hope this helps.
