Whipple Installed!

It's a bummer some of the 2023+'s have a few gremlins that need to be worked out. Hopefully you can get the sorted out soon.

As for an update on 2022, I'm at 49,7xx, and things are still going well. Last weekend I did my ~25k Spark Plug and Wire Change out and this weekend it will be time to do an oil change. The topside creeper worked out well again and this time I used a smaller torque wrench, which made things a lot easier. Overall, about a 1-hour project. Last time we used Motorcraft SP-581x plugs, this time I went with NGK 95822, which has been discontinued, but I found a new set. When the Whipple was first installed, the recommendation was to use NGKs, and at the time, I found a set, but wasn't as lucky with the ~25k mile swap. Not sure there will be much difference at this change interval, but the 581s require gapping, and the NGKs come at the correct gap.

Outside of the pulley issue, no check engine lights or issues to note. The Spark Plug and Wire change was preventive maintenance only. Once I change the oil around the 50k mark and send it out for analysis, I'll post the results.

Throw some TONS spark plug wires on that bad girl!

I've never heard what mine sounds like outside the truck. I've only been told. I sent this to people I've passed at WOT for fun and they said yes, this is how it sounds. Awesome.

I got a Dragy a couple of weeks ago. I need to find a place to do some testing.

It's definitely the sound that catches attention. I heard one at SEMA and it's the first time I didn't mind any whining.

Ooo I've been eyeing the draggy.

5 Star said 5-7 business days on my tune and today is day 6.

I hope I get it before the weekend!

5 STAR TUNE IS INSTALLED AND A CERTIFIED RIPPER!!!! The boys at 5 star were animals and helped me get it all working.

FIrst drive was in the snow at 6 on Christmas, so it was tough to tell, but it was immediately apparent it is so much better than the Whipple tune.

Drive it some more today and it drives so much more effortlessly. It gets up to speed and goes up hills with ease.

I can't wait to do some harder pulls when it dries and get some better datalogs. Much happier with the Whipple blower now, feels like it should.

I hope everyone had a great Christmas! It took some time, but below are the results from the Oil Change, just shy of 50k miles. This analysis looks great! The balancer pulley might have been the cause of the higher iron readings all along. Either way, this Oil Change ends ~20k miles (I think) of Valvoline Restore and Protect, with fairly good evidence from the oil filter cut-ups that it does clean. This time Amsoil Signature Series 5w30 went in with factory Motorcraft Filter. We will see if it has any effect. I've never been a fan of boutique oils, but with the iron content being slightly elevated, I thought it would be worth a try; however, based on the result below, off-shelf synthetic vs boutique oil may not make much difference here. Anyway, we will do (2 - 3) 5k mile OCI's with Amsoil and trend the results. Truck runs great and no real issues to report at ~52k miles.

That’s awesome, I’m very curious about power delivery in 1st and 2nd. My tuned diesel will murder the tires first 3 gears, my Whipple truck, barely a peep….

I'll probably get myself a draggy here at some point. I can at least get a YouTube clip when it dries out.

That’s awesome. I know I love what 5star did with mine. Congrats, man. Glad they were able to get yours running good. Some great dudes up there at 5star.

I suspect with a good launch it should sneak into the 4’s to 60, low 13 quarter.

My 6.7 runs 13.3 in 600hp tune. Whipple
Truck using 1st gear (I launch in 2nd) should produce a similar amount of wheel torque

My best in my old highly modified 2005 STi was 11.6 @ 121!!!! That was a ride.

Mine was a 2022 Whipple Lariat F150, Oz Tuned, 10.9@ 127, stock except the blower, 3.625 pulley and Oz tune. Amazing platform.

The elusive 10s!!! Let's Goooooooo!!! Before I die I'll have a 1,XXX HP vehicle, that's my goal at least.

Whooooooooo, finally some dry pavement up here in Maine, finally got to get on it. The truck is SO happy revving out to 6k and change! Wow what an animal. It really is impressive! The 5 Star tune is such big jump!

Sweet. Sounds like you now have what you (and) I were hoping for! Congrats!

As of an email this morning, HPTuners has officially added the Super Duty Whipple calibration to it's library. Meaning it is now widely tunable.

ALMOST makes me wish I waited........Would be fun to line up my replacement 2025 PSD 6.7 emissions intact ASAP tuned with one of your Whipple trucks (on my US travels), free lunch and a beer from me if you beat me in the 1/8th from a dig.
