WARN Winch Option, Updates?

NO only on the Tremor and you could install to one battery and one alternator but Ford wants you to have 2 batteries and alternators and they wire the winch to the AUX switch number 4 from what i believe someone else said or told me

Ford is doing dual alternators?

Ok so I don't believe it is possible to add a second alternator or battery to the wiring harness unless you replace the entire harness .... Which if you ask me not worth it on a 70k or 80k or whatever k truck... The second battery harness is connected to the second alternator but also the first battery as well and fuse box

In the picture I traced the second battery cables from the drive side to unless the truck and the harness also connects to the alternator and then to under the truck where is goes into that black plastic conduit and runs from drive side to passenger on the front of the oil pan and then goes back up to the passenger side battery and fuse box and run along to the back of the engine to the starter... I don't see a say to just add the harness .... YES YOU CAN add wiring to your truck to add the battery and alternator using your custom wiring job but I wouldn't but Yes you can do it but no you can't easily do it .... But I would just add the winch with a single battery and alternator I don't see it being a problem I don't on my Jeeps all the time just run at a higher idle and it fine but you won't be able to get the factory winch you will have to get a aftermarket winch and find a way to wiring it up but IF YOU HAVE THE UPFITTER SWITCHES YOU ALREADY HAVE Dual battery and dual alternators

Well it depends if you look under the hood you may be able to see if you have dual alternators...
Here is a picture of my alternators but looks like same serial number for my 6.7 .. worth a look

I do and the part numbers are all the same.
Well at we know the alternators are not different between the 6.7 and 7.3 but they are mounted different between them ... You have alternator tower and I have alternator turbos hahahahaha...
But seriously though this is help for the Tremor that want the winch after the fact.

Nope.....got a big hole on the passenger side where you have an alternator.

Damn .... But I say you can still add a winch but you should .... Should... You don't have to ... But add a fuse between the winch and battery if you add one and you just run the run at a higher idle ... Which you make need to set up the plo setup but idk how you do it without the upfitter switches as on my block it has the wires to do plo .... Something to look into or maybe the alternator you have is already enough to run a winch when your at idle

I will look further into what exact alternator I have.....my window sticker says: " 100AMP(6.2L)/240CMP(6.7)ALTR" Directly below the Upfitter switches line.

Also here is a article for you about winch amp draws... I would say send it but you may also be able to just upgrade the alternator you have to a 150 or 200 I don't know what is out there but a option as well

Here is some useful info
So you at least have a 157... But i would go for a 240 upgrade if you want to run a winch ... Which is possible with a single alternator and also classified as a heavy duty alternator as well.

I have the uplifter switches. But not the alternator. Why can't we just buy the winch and install it ourselves?

It's nothing saying you can't.... But you may have to run at a higher idle or have a battery possibly drain but I run winches on my stock Jeeps and don't have problems... Do at your own risk is what I will tell you.. it's your vehicle... I would run it

That would make it so the upfitter switches would be required for the winch?!? I hadn't heard anyone that has been able to add the winch to their order mention that, but doesn't necessarily mean anything. That would be good info to know though.
