WARN Winch Option, Updates?

The winch has been added under accessories on my build...still in order processing though Aaaaaahhhhhhhhhh!!!!???

Hey all! Just got my truck today. The winch set up is pretty cool. I had asked my dealer to keep the boxes and for a moment he thought they had thrown them away, but... for those needing part numbers here you go! The Ford part number is the winch and the Warn is for the brackets. I talked to the guy who installed it. He said it took him a little over a day as he was being extra careful not to scratch the bumper etc. The wiring goes under the fan shroud to the battery on the passenger side. The “brain” lives behind the driver side fog light.

Did they say that part # is universal for both the gas and diesel?

I don’t know. I would guess the winch is the same but the brackets / mount may be different. As it was the first one they’ve seen they didn’t know much about it and as has been reported the system wasn’t too helpful. The technician did say he saw a bigger winch available only for the 7.3 that gets power from both dual batteries. I presume the bigger winch is for the commercial truck applications?

These are all the parts that were removed from my truck to fit the winch. Maybe through cross referencing part numbers it will help the 6.7 folks?

So has anyone found the elusive 6.7 winch unicorn yet? I believe there is a case of beer or $10 or something riding on it. Cmon noobs...show us one!

Looks great. Can't wait to get mine ordered and installed.

12,000 lb. Ford Performance Parts winch by Warn (Incl. wireless and wired remote controls; 70-foot high-tensile strength, abrasionresistant synthetic line; 7.3L Gas engine (99N) requires Dual Battery (86M); 6.7L Power Stroke® Diesel engine (99T) requires 397 Amp Alternator (67B)) 15W — O-17Y O-17Y

Well it looks like I wont be getting a winch, I only have one battery.

Can't the battery and alternator be added? I'm pretty sure I have the 7.3 but only one battery.

Yes but no .... The wiring harness is mostly different if you don't have the dual battery and alternator but if the wiring harness for the additional battery and alternator can be added to you harness with a blank plug then yes .... You need to have a wiring diagram to Yes for sure but I will look at the wiring harness of mine that has both and see if it can be added but I have the 6.7

I was able to get the winch on my build list, for a 6.7 order date aug 12 build date oct 5

So why is the 2nd battery req again? I have installed winches on vehicles with one battery. This is just a dealer add on correct? Is the included wiring to the factory winch only long enough to run to the 2nd battery? Seems like it would be easy to adapt, may just have to wait and see what all comes in the install kit?

Does anyone know if these will install on a non-Tremor Super Duty?

NO only on the Tremor and you could install to one battery and one alternator but Ford wants you to have 2 batteries and alternators and they wire the winch to the AUX switch number 4 from what i believe someone else said or told me
