WARN Winch Option, Updates?

I honestly don't know if you need the switches but I know from the factory they winch it to the aux switch so your not putting a aftermarket switch in the truck but there are video on how to add upfitter switches to the 2017-2019 super duty should be the same but look at YouTube
Just to confirm, my winch is not wired through the upfitter switches.

That's good to know ... So just straight up to the battery then?

I’ll see if I can get pictures but the wiring from the winch crosses under the fan shroud and up to the second battery on passenger side.

The passenger side battery is the main battery but why did they wire it that that ... Very interesting

HEY BUDDY DO YOU KNOW WHAT WAS INCLUDED IN THAT WINCH KIT FROM FORD?
I have gone through all my info with the truck and short of the parts I posted a while back that were removed I can’t find any more info. ☹️

Hey all! Just got my truck today. The winch set up is pretty cool. I had asked my dealer to keep the boxes and for a moment he thought they had thrown them away, but... for those needing part numbers here you go! The Ford part number is the winch and the Warn is for the brackets. I talked to the guy who installed it. He said it took him a little over a day as he was being extra careful not to scratch the bumper etc. The wiring goes under the fan shroud to the battery on the passenger side. The “brain” lives behind the driver side fog light.
what was the cost for the parts and the cost of the labor?
& thanks for the pics

So is the winch a dealer add on or is it installed at the factory?

It's a dealer installed option. So, ordered WITH the truck, but installed by the dealer. So far, anyway.

So does ford pay them the labor time? Wondering how that works out?

Just read the entire thread and the common theme (at least one of the main common theme's) is a good number of the dealers fail to have good information. I ordered my Tremor a week or so ago and thanks to this site, I was able to order what I wanted. I say it that way because, they had no idea the winch existed nor were they aware of many of the available options in the Tremor package. They were wondering how I got my hands on the "proprietary" Standard Equipment and Options document for the 2021 Super Duty line, which was a huge help in guiding them down the right path.

Mine was factory ordered and dealer installed. Strangely, the factory hard tonneau was installed where they spray the bedliner just down the street from the factory. I would have thought the winch would have been done there.

I assume Ford pays the dealer for the labor as with any dealer installed option.

I added the winch to my build after my initial order and when I called to add it to the order my fleet guy said it would add $2850.00 to the overall cost. He said that was his price, take that for what its worth.

Has anyone figured out what Warn winch will be installed or is it a complete custom for Ford?

You can order it as an option on a new truck or you can order it through your local Ford parts department at your dealership. At least that was the original plan.

Has anyone else picked up a Tremor with the winch already installed? Where does the front license plate go on the winch model? I'm lucky enough to not need one in Nevada but will need a front plate bracket in California.

They removed the plate mount. No clue as it’s not required in LA either.
