Bummer about the crash, what happened?

100% my fault. It was uncomfortably warm, I'm out of shape, so I had a good sweat going just unloading the bike and putting on my gear. I was in a hurry to get some breeze flowing, and maybe do a little cannonball run across the river I was parked next to. The bike was warmed up, (apparently my muscles weren't) so I jumped on, grabbed a handful of throttle in 2nd gear, went to jump a rocky berm, rear tire kicked out as I went airborne, landed on my left handlebar, still tensed up, with feet on the pegs and hands on the grips. The sudden stop compressed my left ribs (didn't hit anything, had plenty of gear on so would have had padding) and heard/felt popping below my armpit.

Lied there for awhile, some SxS saw me, helped me up and loaded my bike for me. Didn't bother going to the dr or anything since "your ribs are broken or cracked or dislocated, take some tylenol" didn't seem worth the deductible.

At least I didn't scratch my brand new helmet!

I just last year had a similar episode. In fact, I posted memeage in the meeemz thread about it:

So I throw a leg over a new, 16Kw/165lb e-moto, thinking "I'll just casually idle this thing up the slope, there, then turn a little left to go between my camper and the neighbors house", up on the pegs, slow-N-easy like, rather than push the darn thing to the street.

Did you know? e-motor-vehicles possess 100%! torque from ZERO RPM?

I did.

And! I got to experience what any! lack of respect shown the throttle (and I thought I knew that) may consequence.

So I go up the slope, slowly, throttle JUST cracked off "idle"... then think "I'll just use that driveway concrete rain berm to bounce the front tire off of for my left turn".

NEXT THING I REMEMBER... I was laying on the ground as was the bike, both on our sides. Very minor bruising and a scraped bar grip end was the only perceivable damage.

I was reminded about e-throttle respect right there, tell you what!

In hindsight, the front tire slipped off the far side of the berm, tugging the bike and the bars forward from my relaxed throttle grip which inadvertantly rolled the throttle open.

Watch out when you climb aboard an e-moto.

Just need to print an adapter to use my DeWalt or Milwaukee batteries on it. Ordered a Husqvarna graphics kit so it can match Dad’s bike

I don't ride anymore, brain just doesn't click the same after my car wreck in 2014 and could never get to feeling relaxed on my bikes after that. Now I have my Tremor and get in the wind in my 2011 BMW Z4 sDrive35is. This was a fun day at the track on my 2004 Hayabusa. Playing with the folks on their 600s that didn't think there was anyway I could track a "bus."

Track days are the best. I had some cool pictures from that era riding my Super Hawk. I also saw my buddy high side R6 and break a bunch of body parts. It was still fun after that but we learned not to be agressive on cold tires.

Yes, cold tires are bad... I learned that on the second run out and ended up drifting the beast around a corner. First instinct was to let off, but just held throttle and rolled through.

I also learned that first should never be downshifted to on the Super hawk. Slid the rear tire going into a tight sweeper after a triple digit straight. Fortunately old fashioned grabbing the clutch saved me there. My Ducati had a much taller first and a slipper clutch so never had an issue with it.

Didn't ever get down to elbow, but did have peg folded up and knee down for a few. That bike redlined at 160 in 3rd and topped at 194. I would ride my Honda VTX 1800 with my sport bike buddies. Wore off the back quarter of the boards

Taught MSF for the base, the sport bike class was one of the funnest

I've dragged it all at the track - knees, elbows, ass, forehead...you name it
