I thought I dropped a couple pix o' my new sco0t in a thread here on FT.c... but it musta been another.
I bought this nifty little CRF 300L last year to tour the backroads of Utah. I did break it in here in southern Cal heading to the coast and back in additon to a few hundred local hops.
Haven't even gotten it into the dirt, yet.
Changed the bars (ProTaper CR High) and grips, installed a skidplate. Added a K-tech Suspension rear shock and spring, set the preload to my weight but have not checked sag... she's tuned w/ an 87 octane Stage 1.0 from 550 Performance. Pipe is a Graves. Adventure trunk from Harbor Freight, attached to an aftermarket rear rack using rivnuts and 1/4-20 stainless scr3ws and stainless fender washers. It ain't goin' anywhere.
She'll run 70MPH at cruise, now, but it gets a little windy. 65 is doable for awhile, but I didn't buy it to run the highway. I bought it for cruisin' the backcountry. I wanted something plated to be road legal, but still light weight enough to pick up when I tip over on the trail. This thing is just quick enough now to be really fun.

I picked up a Husqvarna 701 LR from a friend to build as my next BDR bike. Quite a few parts/mods/accessories have been ordered. I'll be changing quite a bit, exhaust, skid plate, rack, fuel caps, rally tower, suspension rebuild/revalve/respring, tires, etc., but here's how she sits at the moment.

How do you like those Michelin Anakee Wild tires? I have them front and rear in the shed to put on after a few more miles on the Honda rubber.

They are ok, especially if you're doing lots of mild dirt and gravel mixed in with tarmac. They just announced the new 2nd gen is coming out, so they might get better? I will be removing them in favor of a Motoz tire of some flavor, but I put new rubber on for each BDR as I want the absolute best performance for each trip, and tires are a disposable item.
On a bike that would see more regular use or a lot more road use, I'd likely keep them on there.

^ ^ ^ Sounds about right. My riding is pretty much 50/50 pavement/dirt with no m/c camping *planned*... (but we know how that may go). Many are only seeing 5000 miles from that particular Michelin at the rear wheel.
I certainly do like your approach with having new rubber, though, and that line of Motoz (I've seen two that a lot of riders like) seem to be a great tire.

My KX450 is street legal (lol) but I have dedicated supermoto wheels/tires for that. Want to plate my KLX300R and TE300 for connecting trails and exploring but tires have been the biggest hangup. Tough to find something that has good traction in the dirt that won't wear out in 50 miles of pavement. I don't really care about traction on the pavement in that use case.
Sorry for no text with my picture. It comes from a deep sense of guilt. This is the first motorcycle that I ever owned. I got it new in December of 1972, for Christmas. It is a 1972 JT2 Yamaha Mini-Enduro.
I need to restore it so I can lose the guilt. 
There were many years where it couldn't be stored indoors. It has been indoors for quite a few years now. I have all the parts that are not on it, minus the lighting, as that went away, as the hot-rod mods were installed.

I restored this 1974 DT250 a few years back. Took me 2.5 years off and on, and I had to go to Asia and even England to find original and NOS parts to complete it, but it was worth it in the end. The only reason I restored it was that the tanks were the original Virginia Gold, and they were nearly flawless. The rest of the bike was a $hit box, and I had to rebuild nearly all of it.

I rode a 250 enduro in the mid 1970s, rode it everywhere. I cannot remember it's model year, but if memory serves the tank featured the round Yamaha medallion w/ the three tuning forks icon.
Yours looks to be a few years slightly newer model. That is pretty sweet!

Mine musta been a '70 ish. I need to go look at some pictures.
The only photo record I have, somewhere, is some Super 8 footage of clowning around at the local view spot (doing what teenagers of the era might have done. *puff puff*).

Very nice! Shortly after I got the 60cc, I got a 1971 DT1 250. We put a Bates Solo seat on it, so I could ride it at 12 years old.I restored this 1974 DT250 a few years back.
