Honestly, I can't think of a good reason to not have a flag if you're off-road. They're stupid cheap, no draw backs, and they increase visibility to other drivers.

In Ocotillo and Glamis they use light up flags (and sometimes flag poles) which I think are an even better idea.

I have been able to confirm that the design between the super duty and F150 tow hooks are different enough that this won't fit the F150s. HOWEVER, I am looking to see if I can create a similar design for the F150 crew. I know a few people on here have both or know other people that have F150s and might be interested in this, so stay tuned.

Q: if mounting to a towhook, what keeps the whip from whacking the bumper and leading edge of the hood?

Should be stiff enough to not hit the bumper since it is so close vertically but yes there is a possibility of it hitting the hood. Many people add a section of pool noodle to prevent it from causing damage.

It is one of the downsides of the front mounted require in Michigan.

Lots of companies offer tow hook mounts and are used frequently at Silver Lake with no major issues.

oh, I see. MI Requires front mount.

In Oklahoma at Little Sahara, we just need a flag 10'tall or greater, and we usually run it up from the Bed of the truck, or on the back of the dirt bike.

Dirt bikes and quads are rear mounted, vehicles and side by sides are front. Mounting from the back bumper or bed would be easier

Tennis ball on the whip is what I usually do. That and good flag like a Rip Rod with a thicker whip - not one of the cheap flimsy ones everyone seems to run.
