Tow Hook Flag Mount

Just have to get it on there and really tighten it down the first time. I didn't have to clearance anything on mine but I did have to remove the washers to get the threads started initially.

Mine was a little tight on the inner sides, but it's definitely not moving once it's on there. I left it clamped on for a few days and it went back on just fine the next time I put it on. I'd rather it be tight than risk it being too loose 🤷‍♂️

Earlier design had the nut on the bottom flush and i saw this being a problem for some.

It does take a bit of a wiggle to get it to fully seat.
 
I did not get to the mount this afternoon, but after reading MCE's post I am comfortable with having to "snap" the two halves into the i.d. of the tow loop. They won't do that just yet without taking off this much --->||<---.

Mounted.

I only need an off road flag a couple of times a year, but I camp 2-3 times per month.

So, I added two right angle brackets so I will be able to mount my American flag to the front of the truck when parked at the camp sites. (No more driving off with it still attached to the top of the truck 😩)

I can quickly loosen the Philips head screw and nut and be ready to go if/when I need to switch back.

Outstanding product and thanks again for the quick turn around...

A clarification here: This only pertains to riding at Sand Dunes, not trails. For the Moab meetup this Fall we won't be anywhere near dune riding where this would come into play. A flag is not required (not commonly used) for any other kind of 4x4 trail riding, which is what we'll be doing.

So, unless you're planning a dune trip of your own before or after the Moab meetup, you won't need a flag for that trip.

That said, it looks to be a great product and anyone who thinks they may one day venture into the sand should pick one up!
 
Improved design is in works to try and prevent the possibility of the flag hitting the hood. Attempt 1 appears to make it almost impossible to hit but doesnt currently include some of the smaller features of the original to make it easy to install.

No, but she has pushed me to try and find a few other ideas and possibly start a website for selling items.
