The real story on Tremor springs

Here are my thoughts...

What is your front GAWR on the door sticker? If you do not have a aftermarket front bumper or winch get front springs rated for 400 lbs less than that. You could go 800 lbs less but I would weigh the truck on a CAT scale first.
I do not think disconnecting the sway bars will help the ride very much on the road and completely removing the front sway bar will not be safe on the road.
Removing the air bags should be the same as deflating them completely and should help.
17" or 18" wheels will help a lot. My opinion is that 20" wheels on a HD truck are silly and one of the reasons I got a Tremor was to get 18" wheels.
Front axle is 5600. 100% stock, so you're suggesting 5200# front Tremor springs (7.3L)? Makes sense. When I rolled over the scales at the dump last week the truck was EXACTLY 7500# without me in it. Didn't get front and back though.

I run the airbags with 5# of pressure. May just totally deflate them to see. I honestly don't use them and have the stock parts, so may look at removing totally.

I just put 5100s on yesterday and I'm a little bummed they didn't help more than they did lol. I think tires are the next thing I'm going to focus on. Ideally, I'd like to trade my BAP wheels for Tremor wheels. If not, I may just look at getting some 35s and buy some 17" wheels. I think that will be my biggest bang for the buck/mod. I also think the tremor swaybar will help and disconnecting the rear swaybar too.

Thanks for the post!

I don’t think you want to run your airbags totally empty. I would keep 5 psi in at alll times when not loaded. I don’t have them on this truck but previous trucks I did. Always had the Firestone ride rite bags

Exactly. The first post in this thread has the part number. The 5200# springs can come in a gas or diesel Tremor.

Need to know the front only weight to help us here.

I do not know if running air bags at zero will damage them, but any pressure that you have in them will make the rear stiffer.

Performance shocks will not generally make the ride smoother. It makes the ride more controlled and more stable.

I think that will help a lot. You don't necessarily need Tremor wheels unless that is the look that you want. All 18" Super Duty wheels from their introduction in 2005 to present are dimensionally identical and functionally interchangeable. They differ only cosmetically.
I also think the tremor swaybar will help and disconnecting the rear swaybar too.
If you do not go off road much, I would leave the sway bars alone. They reduce the body roll a lot and in my opinion make the truck drive a lot better on the road. They are easy to swap though, so you can give it a try. You can even just disconnect one side of the rear bar to make it ineffective to try it.

Take the rear swaybar off. I did and it does make a positive difference due to the very high rear spring rates. It really isn’t necessary unless you have a bed camper, which is why it is only included in the Camper option.

As already stated the main issue in the front is the high spring rate. 5200 is manageable with the 7.3L but having done it myself I would recommend you do 4800 unless you use a bed camper a lot.

The shocks do help, not so much with overall softening the ride but managing transitions. Everything gets tighter not really softer. I do think given the high spring rates you should avoid digressive valving like the Bilsteins, though.

I totally missed this message somehow. Thanks a ton. I have finally wishwashed enough. I'm ordering the 4800 springs. I'm hoping that + removing the airbags will improve the ride. It is super stiff. Before winter, my plan is to get some 17s & 35s. I may need to get Tremor blocks to keep rake, but will wait to install springs first. I already added the BIlsteins and for $400, I'm pretty impressed, but as you said, it doesn't really dramatically improve ride. I'm hoping with tremor springs + no airbags + 35s on 17s that it will dramatically improve the ride.

The rear is the worse part for sure. I think the airbag steals a lot of travel - ie hit the bags way before I would hit the stock bumpstops. Anyway, I'm pulling those off and can probably get $150-200 for them, so that offsets the springs some. I'm planning to just order them down at the local Ford dealer.

Wanted to throw my hat in the ring here in case it helps anyone..

My truck is a Non Tremor, 2025 F250 Fx4 7.3 gasser with 4800lb "LAN" Springs.
I swapped my coils with the 5200lb "LAT" Springs off a Diesel Tremor F250.

I gained exactly 1.5 inches of lift on both sides.

I paired this with a set of Fox 2.5 HTO shocks (0-1.5" of lift) and the ride is incredible.

I do have to mention that my axle did shift more than I expected- so I will be ordering a PMF Adjustable trackbar to re-center the front axle and likely going to order the carli brake lines for peace of mind. I know its not needed but the current lines do feel ever so slightly tighter than I want when the suspension is cycled.

Very interesting thread.

I have a 2023 Non-Tremor FX4 with the snow plow package.

I was looking at swapping my springs out with something that might help the ride a little without losing too much height. I can’t read anything on my springs though.

WV, (howdy!) what's your front axle GAWR?

"without losing too much height" - but do you think you could err on gaining a wee bit?

These are the two heaviest listings for the Tremor in the OP which I realize now you probably have already read. d'oh.

LC3C-5310-ATA (LAT)/ Door Spring code 77xx- 5,200
LC3C-5310-ASA (LAS)/ Door Spring code 88xx - 5,600

Everything I've seen about the Tremor Package states a 1-inch lift over the standard Super Duty ride height. If you were to use either of these, the lift should be slightly less.

I’ve also heard the “snow plow package” springs also give an inch…so maybe I could swap to a tremor spring and lose nothing? I’d have to do a side by side. Wondering if I’d keep the same height but it would be softer if I swapped to either the LAT or LAS

Ah.

Then I'd err on the side of the LAS.

That's all I can think of, and that's all I got!

Good luck, then. Sounds like you're on the right track. Cheers.

Thanks for this response a while back. I've talked to some vendors, mulled it over and here's my plan...

Current:
- 2020 F250 Godzilla w/ snow plow and camper package 🤮
- I tow a 36', 10k pound camper 1-2 times per month, mostly within 2 hours of home
- Airlift 5000 airbags in rear (may remove)
- 20" BAP wheels w/ 275/65R20 Michelins on 45/45psi
- Alibaba Aluminium Shell (250# guessing)
- Bilstein 5100s - meh

This Fall:
- Tremor springs - 4800
- Tremor blocks OR possibly a progressive add a pack (Icon makes one)
- 17" wheels (probably 704HD, 17x9 +18 offset)
- 35x12.5R17 Falken AT4W (TRUE 35")
- Might remove the rear swaybar

Fingers crossed this will ride GREAT!

After that...if I'm still hunting better ride quality, I might look at shocks & a torsion front sway bar.

I may also look at either Fox 2.5 HTO or Accutune 2.0 adjustables to try to smooth out the bigger bumps and the Bilsteins are still pretty stiff after 6k miles

Is this the correct part number I need to take to the Ford dealer to order? Do I just order the springs?
LC3C-5310-AVA (LAV)/ Door Spring code 66xx- 4,800

I would think you can find some takeoffs for way cheaper. Lots of 7.3L owners have switched to Carli, etc.

Late response here but I have a non Tremor 2024 F250 with the snowplow package also and replaced front springs with Tremor ATA 5200lb springs and gained around 1/2" of lift. I also put Tremor 3" blocks in the rear and the truck has just a slight rake now. Rides so much better compared to the 5990 plow springs!

Good to hear! I'm planning on doing the same thing! These snow plow springs are terrible!

Nice. I have some 4800lb tremor springs coming, hope I keep the same height as I only have 3/4 inch of rake stock

My plan is to do 4800lb tremor springs on my 2020 snow plow package truck + 17s & 35s and probably replace the 5100s with Fox 2.5 HTOs. I'm HOPING this will really soften up the truck and I won't regret not going 37s. I guess I always could down the road, but with a 7.3L and 3.55s, I would like to keep it mild and closer to stock vs. having to spend $5k+ on suspension arms, etc.

Did the swap. 2023 non-tremor FX4 snow plow package with 5990lb coil springs. Replaced with tremor 4800lb AVB springs.

Gained 1/4 inch and helped the ride quality a decent amount

Let's gooooo! Looks good! What shocks are you running? 2.0 or 2.5 HTO? I really think this is the route I'm going.

Did you have to add an adjustable track bar?

Thanks for posting!
