The real story on Tremor springs

Ok finally picked up 2 sets of springs to see which ones I’ll like better.

I found a set of 4800 springs off a gas tremor and also found a set of 5200 springs off a diesel tremor

(My ride is a 2023 non tremor gasser)

In theory…the 4800# tremor springs will lift my truck 1 5/8” similar to @quad racer. With that being said, the 5200# springs I have will give close to a 2” lift.

Anyone out there to confirm the 5200’s will lift closer to 2”?

Also @quad racer : did you ever install the 3” rear blocks off the diesel to keep the rake?

Pretty sure he went from 4800 non Tremor springs to 5200 Tremor springs and gained 1-5/8". I wouldn't expect any more lift than that. I also wonder if that was just an initial gain, or if it actually held at 1-5/8" with some use and miles.

You are correct , he did put on the 5200’s.

So the 4800’s will give me maybe 1” of lift in the front

I too have a 7.3L 2020 F250 Crew Cab FX4, Snow Plow prep springs (3.55 gears). GAWR 5600.

I currently have 20" BAP wheels and Michelins (34.1") and stock suspension.

I've looked at all the lift/level kits. Carli, Icon, OUO, etc.etc.
I have 2 main goals
#1 - Soften the ride since it's my daily driver in the city
#2 - Tow 10k# travel trailer

I plan to stick with 35s (34.5") or possibly 295/65R20s (35.1").
I plan to get some nice shocks, probably accutune Fox 2.0 Adjustable Reservoirs (soft for daily driving, firm for towing!
I plan to swap in Tremor springs.
I plan to swap in a Tremor front swaybar (31mm, current is 33mm)
Might add Tremor rear block if I lose my rake.
I might change to a 17" wheel + 35s to soften even more, but that would be phrase 2.
I'm going to be adding an aluminum topper

BIG QUESTION!!

If I have 5600 springs does that mean they are 5600# springs? If so, could I swap in some 5200 or 4800 springs to soften up the front springs?

For ride quality, start by dropping tire pressure. Especially with the 295/65r20. That has made the biggest change to me. I would start there OR go ahead and skip down a wheel size and do the same. Simple, little calculation, huge difference in ride quality. I'm running 45/40 in mine and the difference between the stock tire and factory pressure and the 295/65r20 at 45/40 was IMPRESSIVE on small bumps.

The issue of hitting bumpstops won't be mitigated of course without the coils adding height thought.

This has been an incredibly informative thread. I have a 24 F350 non Tremor CCSB 7.3 gas with the snow plow package. Is there a Tremor spring that will keep me at the same ride height but provide a softer ride? The truck will never plow. Thank you in advance.

Definitely check the tags to confirm spring codes, but most likely you have 5200 lb non-Tremor springs. If you install 4800 lb Tremor springs you should get a softer ride at a similar ride height. If you have 5600 lb non-Tremor springs, go with the 5200 lb Tremor springs.

No sir. I may one day but if I do I’ll lift the front slightly too as I don’t like too much rake. I don’t two all that often.

Since the spring swap the ride height has remained the same. The springs I put in came off of a 2024 truck with just a few thousand miles on them.

Sounds like you are trying to undo snow plow prep. I think you should figure out what you have from the door sticker, then find that on the list in post #1 and then go one click lighter. Going with a Tremor spring might lift you a little even if it is a click lighter.

@BP73 Keep us posted on the ride quality! I just bought Bilstein 5100s and am hoping to get a bump in ride quality (70k mile OEM shocks) and talked to Ford about picking up some 4800 Tremor springs. I'll let you be my test mule!!

You have the non-Tremor LAK (big letters on the tag). The AKB at the end of the part number probably supersedes AKA.

Yeah your front GAWR is the same as your front spring rate. Jesus with 5990’s you must have lost a filling by now. I’m not sure there is a Tremor spring you can use!

Will do…I put the 5100’s in a couple weeks ago, along with the steering stabilizer. Rides great, big difference. Also through on some Toyo RT Trails (295/70/18) on a set of tremor wheels off a 2021 SD.

Can’t wait to test out some springs next …hopefully this weekend.

There is a 5600 Tremor spring. That is one step down from your 5990's but should still give some additional ride height and maybe improve the ride a little. The 5200 Tremor springs might even be at or a little above your existing ride height.

The spring rate isn’t what gives the lift. It’s tremor vs non tremor. The spring rate will change ride stiffness only. So if you found a set of tremor 4800 or 5600 that’s the softest ride with the additional lift.

Yes, a Tremor spring will likely raise your ride height and you said you did not want that. I think that you just want to remove snow plow prep, so use the "LC3C-5310-ALA (LAL)". This is likely what your truck would have had without snow plow prep. It may end up very slightly lower, but probably not noticeable.

Right now the truck sits close to level. I believe that is due to the snowplow package springs. I am ok with a slight rake if it helps to remove the ride stiffness.
