The real story on Tremor springs

Since this thread popped up again I will throw in my data point. My 2024 very loaded Platinum 6.7 Tremor has a 5600 front GAWR, PN LC3C-5310-ASB springs with a LAS production code and 88NN on the door. This is consistent with everything above.

My 2023 7.3 gas Tremor has LC3C-5310-AVB / LAV springs.

Would anyone with a 2023+ Tremor model with 6.7 diesel be able to post up there spring tag numbers?
my '24 gas tremor is the same
Interesting, on a 2023 6.7 HO Tremor I looked at sitting on the dealer lot the tag on the front springs read LC3C-5310-ATB.
it think atb is just an updated part from ata
Speculating only, but I suspect the LAV or LAT code is the important thing. And those did not change on 2023+. The ATA to ATB change might just be a different supplier, or slightly updated. But likely still the same or very similar spring.

LAV = 4800 lb gas Tremor spring. LAT = 5200 lb diesel Tremor spring
I agree.
my '24 LAV springs are LC3C-5310-AVB (LAV)

has anyone put the 5200lb diesel tremor coils (LAT) on their gas tremor that came with the 4800lb (LAV) coils?
if so, did they provide any lift? and more importantly, how was the ride?
thanks

I have considered doing the same. Maybe I should watch for some cheap LAT take-offs sometime and give it a go. If you get around to doing this, I'm interested in your results.

Another way to look at it is your Tremor with LAT springs will be the same rake as my non-Tremor in the first post of this thread.

I never considered 4800 lb springs because I didn't want to reduce my truck's camper rating. I find the 5200 lb springs firm but definitely not as firm as the rear suspension, and upgrading the shocks takes a lot of the jar out so the truck just feels "tight". What I can't tell you is how the Tremor shocks will handle the higher spring rate, but I suspect not very well.

Just throwing this out there one more time from another 250 7.3 gasser…

Has anyone put the 5600 springs on their 250 that’s originally rated at 4800?

Bad idea?

Should I keep looking for some 4800 take-offs so I keep the truck stays at the stock payload?

Will throwing some 5600 springs increase the payload the correct way?

I have some 5600 springs available to buy, just wanna do all the homework before buying them.

Thanks in advance

No spring will change your rated payload or GVWR. The only thing it will do is increase GAWR and will help with weight distribution of a heavy load like a bed camper as well as lift the front end a bit.

5600 lb springs without any additional weight like a snowplow or heavy front bumper is a bad idea IMO. If you want a little lift go with a more tolerable 5200 lb spring. They should be readily available since they are standard on diesels. But if you can’t find takeoffs, new springs are also not that expensive from Ford.

@BP73 : If you end up wanting to offload those 5600lb springs PM me.

Personally, I would give the 5600 lb springs a try and see if you like them. It is not like it is a big job to swap them. If you don't like them, swap them back and sell them to HeavyAssault. They will ride stiffer and be taller, but that might be fine for you. I have 5600 lb springs in my 2006 gas V10 CCSB and they are not too stiff for me. I have 200k miles mostly lightly loaded on that truck and I have never considered the ride too harsh.

Great Thread!!

I too have a 7.3L 2020 F250 Crew Cab FX4, Snow Plow prep springs (3.55 gears). GAWR 5600.

I currently have 20" BAP wheels and Michelins (34.1") and stock suspension.

I've looked at all the lift/level kits. Carli, Icon, OUO, etc.etc.
I have 2 main goals
#1 - Soften the ride since it's my daily driver in the city
#2 - Tow 10k# travel trailer

I plan to stick with 35s (34.5") or possibly 295/65R20s (35.1").
I plan to get some nice shocks, probably accutune Fox 2.0 Adjustable Reservoirs (soft for daily driving, firm for towing!
I plan to swap in Tremor springs.
I plan to swap in a Tremor front swaybar (31mm, current is 33mm)
Might add Tremor rear block if I lose my rake.
I might change to a 17" wheel + 35s to soften even more, but that would be phrase 2.
I'm going to be adding an aluminum topper

That's it!

BIG QUESTION!! 👇

If I have 5600 springs does that mean they are 5600# springs? If so, could I swap in some 5200 or 4800 springs to soften up the front springs?

That's all the questions I have for now!

Yes, but if you replace your springs with 5200 or 4800 lb versions, all else being equal your front ride height will go down. You can offset some of this by switching to Tremor coils, which are longer. For example, 5600 lb non-Tremor springs should have a similar net ride height to 5200 lb Tremor springs, and 5200 lb non-Tremor springs should have a similar net ride height to 4800 lb Tremor springs.

Thanks for the comment and doing the part research!

So if I read that right, you're saying that I might not get any lift going from non-Tremor snow plow package TO Tremor 5200 springs or even 4800 springs, BUT the ride will be softer? If so, that would be ideal since I want to just run 35s and want a softer ride in the front end. I will probably also swap to a 31mm Tremor sway bar to really soften up the front end.

I'm thinking about splurging on Fox 2.0 adj. shocks so that I can dial in the rebound and help control the body roll with the shock tuning. Sort of race car suspension tuning strategy on a 3/4 ton truck lol.

Just read through that post. Do you think your lift is from switch to Diesel springs? I was going to just get Icon springs because they were supposed to ride so good, but as it turns out, I messaged Icon support and they ONLY RECOMMEND DIESELS use their springs :( That's what got me back on trying to put together a Tremor swap...my main goal is to soften the ride on my truck.

Easiest answer would be to get a Carli level kit. I just think those only look good with 37s...and I only get 10.5 mpg in town now on 34s. My thought is to try Tremor springs for like $300 and see how they feel, then shocks, then go from 20" wheels to 17" wheels. I think the answer is in there somewhere and it all might have me end up at Carli + 37s.

The lift came from the longer springs I’m pretty sure. The stiffness of the diesel spring may offer less sag than on a diesel but I bet it’s negligible. Seat of the pants feel the ride is good for me. I added Bilstien shocks and that helped with wash boarding on bumpy roads. I feel like a big heavy truck on solid front axle should ride rougher than a half ton. Some may not like it.

$1800+ in shocks alone?? Not sure if that's a good way to make something ride better. Your money is better spent on 18" wheels/tires, 17" setup if that's what you really want.

If you get Tremor springs the most common is 5200lb rated. So...your ride should be a tad softer, but the taller Tremor 5200 could end up with the same ride "feel". Not really sure how the changes will feel honestly. Which then leads you to choosing wheels/tires. THEN worry about shocks, which even using 5100 Bilsteins is going to change the ride quite a bit.

There's no real reason to swap in the Tremor sway bar. You sort of say two different things : A race car suspension but a soft ride. To me those qualities are diametrically opposed to achieve.
If in a pull-off parts search you get the sway bar then do what you want. A sway bar helps sway....not the ride quality. The Tremor bar helps with suspension articulation off-road, not on-road ride quality.

I can say on-road driving it MUCH better with HellWig sway bars front and rear. These tend to be much larger than stock and Tremor versions.

Thanks for chiming in!

Yes, adj. shocks would be EXPENSIVE, but my budget is about $2000ish, so with some take off springs and fancy shocks, wouldn't be too much over $2k...will probably start with something like a Fox 2.0 in the rear since those are shot!

I'm thinking Tremor springs to get a slight lift (increase suspension travel slightly, 1-1.5") which will help keep the front off the bumpstops - which from my research is part of the problem AND they should be SLIGHTLY softer. So...hopefully that will help ride quality.

Swaybar - doesn't help 'down the road' ride quality, but would certainly help when pull in and out of driveways/businesses, etc where it currently throws me all over the place. So ride quality would be better in certain situations. If I had adjustable shocks, I could dial in the handling with shock valving.

When I said race car, I just meant adjusting the suspension to get the handling I wanted, not handle like a race car/super stiff...also, I come from the autocross world and there are situations where you are in a stock class and all you can do is adjustable shocks and custom bumpstops (which I might look into)...so the springs are super soft and you have to use bumpstops and shock tuning to get it to handle...anyway, just trying to build a setup like I would building an autocross car.

I may look into the hellwig sways just to see what size they are...

I 100% think I will end up with 17-18" wheels and 35s...in fact, I may just start looking into this first. I put 34s on my wife's stock Jeep JLU and the ride quality was night and day just adding more sidewall!

They are 100% worth it, so much so that when my new truck arrives I plan to install the double-adjustable Fox 2.5's in the rear. Depending on how much better (or not) they perform I will then decide if I use 2.0's in the front again or upgrade to 2.5's.

One of the biggest improvements to ride quality on my MY22 was the Carli lower steering stabilizer. It eliminates the jarring of the steering wheel over bumps and tightens up the ride considerably.

@dpspeed : I could lower my 18" tires 5psi and change to a whole different ride quality. I'm running 60PSI+ all around which tends to be a bit higher than most others here.

I'm still in the camp of figure out your wheels/tires first, then go deeper into the mist on shocks and springs. Good luck.

Ok finally picked up 2 sets of springs to see which ones I’ll like better.

I found a set of 4800 springs off a gas tremor and also found a set of 5200 springs off a diesel tremor

(My ride is a 2023 non tremor gasser)

In theory…the 4800# tremor springs will lift my truck 1 5/8” similar to @quad racer. With that being said, the 5200# springs I have will give close to a 2” lift.

Anyone out there to confirm the 5200’s will lift closer to 2”?

Also @quad racer : did you ever install the 3” rear blocks off the diesel to keep the rake?

Thanks in advance !

I have a 2024 f350 6.7 HO platinum tremor with 5200 springs, I wonder if the 5600 tremor springs will eliminate the Superduty lean that my truck has?
