The real story on Tremor springs

When I swapped my non tremor 4800 springs for tremor 5200 springs I didn’t notice much of a difference in ride quality. It did raise my non tremor about 1.5” or so.

If you are not going to mount a Plow on your truck ever, then I would suggest you go with the Tremor 4800lb LAV spring. They may be slightly higher than your current spring but definitely much better riding overall.

The stock Gas Tremor Spring has a 4800lb rating. I would also not hesitate to going one step up from there to the 5200lb springs.

If you just go by the numbers, compared to your current 5990 springs the Tremor 5200s are 15% less stiff and the Tremor 4800s are 25% less stiff.
Are you the person looking for a pair of LAS springs for your 7.3 350? Do you plan on going two up ?

Along these lines ^ ^ ^ I have a question I cannot figure out for myself this morning, as I haven't yet had the benefit of finishing this first cup before I jam out the door.

I have a lightly-trimmed XLT gas Tremor, 4800 lb springs. How much weight can I hang over the front axle before I see a drop in static ride height of 3/4 inch?

I do not want any drop at all, but I have an almost 100 lbs of metal (Talons Garage aluminum skid plate and then a steel hidden receiver hitch frame, then more than likely more stout gauge aluminum in a skid for steering linkage protection) over my truck's front axle.

The answer could very well be "nothing at all" but then again I'm coming from the half-ton world where 100 lbs means something! hee

Thanks for any replies. I cannot brain this morning.

Yes. That was me.

I had the LAT #5200 Springs installed in my "Long Bed Tremor" and it worked out perfectly. Got about 1 1/2" lift over #5200 Standard Coils that came in the truck.

Good to know. I was curious if you found and installed the LAS 5600lb springs but this clears it up.

I am looking to do the same on my F350 along with the taller rear blocks. Did you just swap springs and shocks or did you have issues with brake line length, alignment etc?

There was no issues with Brake Lines while swapping from the Standard suspension to the Tremor suspension.

Alignment has to be adjusted. The truck had 0* of Castor with just the Tremor Rear Blocks and Front Springs installed. Most Tremors from the factory have low Castor as well. I will install the Carli Radius Arms to get about 4-5* of Castor.

The limiting factor on droop is the shocks not the springs. The Fox 0-1.5" shocks have a longer extension and there is some strain on the brake lines at full droop. I don't think they are under enough tension to damage them, but I generally remove the brake line bracket when putting the truck on the lift. If you use factory Ford shocks (Tremor or otherwise) you have nothing to worry about.

I sourced some new Tremor diesel take off front springs, rear blocks and components locally. Patience paid off.
My F350 7.3 came with 5990 plow springs. This will carry a full time truck camper. Going to experiment this week with rear blocks first to see how that adjusts the ride height. The OEM blocks are just an experiment for ride height to later get a set of custom springs made. After the blocks are in I’ll take measurements. The 5200 pound diesel Tremor Springs will go in next and see what that does to the stance. I’ll have an alignment immediately afterwards to see if any other corrections are needed.
I did not want a Carli 2.5 or higher lift nor did I want the costs that go with it. Trying the bootleg suspension revision to see how it goes.

If my FX4 came with 5600lb springs and I put in 5200lb Tremor springs, would I lose height compared to using a 5600lb Tremor spring? Or would I just be reducing my Front GAWR and keeping the ride height the same as the 5600lb Tremor springs, with maybe a slightly softer ride?

I can’t speak for the 5600 springs. I just did the 5990 to Tremor 5200 conversion and definitely a much better ride. Added the rear Tremor blocks. With camper still installed, the rear is back up where it needs to be.

Running stock Tremor take off shocks for now because they came with the other parts. I was curious and did a side-by-side compression test by hand with the Tremor versus non-Tremor shocks. The non-Tremor shocks have a much slower rebound than the Tremor shocks. The non Tremor shocks seemed as if they would never rebound.

The softer spring in the front allowed the truck to roll more forward while keeping the rear ride height higher than before with the plow package springs.

Yes, you'll gain a little less height with the softer spring. My situation was the opposite, I gained extra height on my 2025 FX4 diesel when swapped the OEM 5200lbs coils for 5600lbs Tremor (LAS) coils (almost exactly 1.5").

For what it's worth, in my own subjective opinion, the ride is actually better with the heavier spring. I came from gassers prior, and the extra weight of the diesel on the 5200lbs springs felt a little boaty, even slow speed speedbumps in a parking lot would bottom out the front pretty easily. The 5600lbs spring tightened things up and it feels a little more stable now.

Do you still have these springs? Would love to buy them if you do
Yes sir! Send me a DM with an offer and your address and I'll ship them out 😀.
