Of course you did. They move it as far away as possible from me. Head to Anchorage or Honolulu and they probably have truck loads (boat loads?) sitting around everywhere.

Sad day yesterday...

Tonight's bottle kill. I heard that @FuelTankReInforcedSkidPlt may be interested in something like this. May make a trip this weekend to see if they still have some 🥃

i've been talking to @FuelTankReInforcedSkidPlt about getting a freshly dumped whiskey barrel and filling it with his honey spirit that he makes to do a barrel aged version. This would be a great bottle for him to try to see what it does to have one sitting in a barrel for 10 years.

I’d think for best results it would need to be sampled AT LEAST weekly to find the sweet spot…. I mean, for science.

@FuelTankReInforcedSkidPlt let me know if you're interested. They are only available in store. Thinking Saturday afternoon 🤔

Yeah, I don't think @FuelTankReInforcedSkidPlt would wait 10 years, but a few weeks or months could be interesting. If he likes how it tastes, then I'd suggest a smaller barrel that is seasoned with whiskey before getting filled with the honey spirit. The smaller barrel would increase the wood surface to liquid ratio and accelerate the effective aging process.

I need to come pick up the barrel from you next time im in texas to start this. Think i can pump the top with co2 and fill it up over an few months.

Have an sampler for moab to see if we like it.

Unfortunately, work keeps me from leaving hom August and September. Then October rolls in and I have to clean up all the bs spending that units did at EoFY 🤦‍♂️

I am going to grab 2 bottles as they are running low. He did take his year 2 and barrel aged it. His plan is to release a new 10 year on his 11th anniversary.

Went out yesterday after the weekly run to Costco. Different distilling process, but want to compare the Kirkland 20 year Panama rum to the RL Seales 10 year Barbados rum. Will also be interesting to have a sample night for the Old Overholt 11 yr, Old Dragon Bones 20 yr and the TR IV ryes 🤔 The Up North Big Kid cider is one my wife likes to sip on.

I loaned out my Beretta to a buddy for opening day.

He returned the shotgun, and this sweetener, as a thank you

It's MGP or similar, and it is bottled in Texas A&M, college station

one of the benefits of living in Northern California - the Costco's and Total Wine Stores seem to have broken the proverbial Kentucky clouds

recently got some of these:
  1. Eagle Rare 10yr
  2. EH Taylor
  3. Blantons
  4. Elijah craig Private Barrel Proof and a few more...
it's a good time to be alive :)

I walked into a Goody Goody (mid-sized chain here in Texas) and they had Eagle Rare and Weller Full Proof sitting on the shelf for MSRP. There was a sign that said "limit one per customer per day" and they had a few of each available.

Rearranging and more shelves for the goodness 🥃

Main shelving, upstairs with the special bottles on top and all open on the other two. The rest of the shelving is in my office.
