Rearranging and more shelves for the goodness 🥃

Main shelving, upstairs with the special bottles on top and all open on the other two. The rest of the shelving is in my office.

Some nice bottles you got in your collection. I had a taste of the 32 year Dewar's Double Double and it was amazing. Was able to score a bottle of it, but haven't found the right occasion to open it.

Thank you! That means a lot coming from Mr TR 😁

Had some good friends over for dinner a while back and was one of the three we decided to try. I feel the 21 is a great pour neat and something I enjoy, but try to limit how often as it will run out 😢

It's interesting that I often hear people say, "I don't like rye whiskey." And then I give them different rye whiskies to try and they the remark how they like "this rye." It is wild how varied the flavors you can get from rye while corn, wheat, oat, rice and malted barley produce a more consistent range of flavors within each grain category. Of course the yeast strain (e.g, the 5 different ones Four Roses uses) and the barrel also make a ton of difference.

The reason I'm posting this is that I recently finished a bottle of 10 year (hazmat) rye distilled by Yahara Bay Distillers in Wisconsin (bottled by Two Souls Spirits) that drank way below its proof and was grape jelly in a bottle. The rye I'm bringing with me to Moab is reminiscint of that flavor profile.

Tonight, I opened a bottle from The Whiskey Blendery that they named Coco Powder that's a blend of straight rye whiskies. This rye is like coco puffs / coco powder in a bottle. At 118.4 proof, if I was drinking it blind, I'd have guessed it was around 100. Overall and excellent and interesting pour.

It is nice when you get a great pour that drinks well below it's proof. The New Louisville Barrel House that I have is 135 proof but it also drinks way easier.

It is fun to share with others and have them guess the proof.

After a fun ordeal with FedEx, finally was able to pick this up 🥃

I picked this one up as well. Might be a while before I get around to opening this one. If you give it a try, would be interested in what your thoughts are on this bottle.

Least I can do. Tonight is a little bit of TR4 😁

I was lucky as well. Cheers!

I drank so much whiskey during Covid that I am sensitized to it now. It sucks! If I have more than 2, I feel like crap and can't sleep. I still do it sometimes.

My favorites are rye or high rye bourbons. The ones I spent most money on were typically cask strength and going around the whiskey world to try the "best". My cheap favorite was Rittenhouse, and I still love it. Hell, Wild Turkey 101 is great. My always-in-the-cabinet Kentucky brands were Four Roses (almost anything), Buffalo Trace, Eagle Rare, Woodford and Old Forester. Rittenhouse, Jack and Wild Turkey 101 where there for later in the evenings.

I don't think you can go wrong with anything you enjoy unless your body revolts like mine. But, tequila!
