Rossmonster Truck Build – 2024 F350 (long wheelbase)

The one I climbed around at ExpoEast last week was priced at $389k, tbh I was a little stunned. It was nice but $400k is a lot of money!
Before I ordered my Baja I did an exact price comparison to a hard-sided OEV Hudson Bay and High Country. All 3 vehicles and campers compared with the options I wanted and the OEV Hudson Bay ended up only being insignificant cheaper compared to "my Baja" pricing while not having a cab pass-through, a wet bath, and its height being significantly more.

I cannot spend $400K on a camper. Even the money I spent on mine is scary. My very first house I bought in 1998 was a $167K and here I have spent a lot more than that. lol

Interesting to see how this plays out for them. The price obviously becomes very hard to imagine but allows them to sell as RV now with 20 year financing options among other things with dealer network. I don't think this was possible before, but I could be mistaken.

Congrats @Chris-DTA on your delivery. Lots of hard work and thinking goes into a project like this from both the owner and the builder. A job well done.

I’m excited for you and the pup to be able to get out and use it!

Happy truckin.

What an incredible rig. I know it's not a Tremor but I would 100% vote for you in both the TOTM and TOTY contests :D

So, I made it home after traveling for a total of three weeks, 2.5 of that in my new Baja. I love this thing. I cannot describe it any other way. I've been working my day job from the road for the last 1.5 weeks, and it all works as planned. Trip/campsite planning has been a bigger issue than expected, but that is about it.

Today, I started unpacking and reorganizing. I installed a few shelves in the upper cabinets as well as some vertical dividers. I still need to build some shelves for the rear storage boxes and reorganize those before I'm ready to hit the road again. I also have a list of additional items I will be ordering this week to complete the setup.

I would have stayed out longer, but I have some skin cancer surgery tomorrow (second one this fall), and then I will deal with recovery. If all goes well, I may go for a one-week trip into the desert before being back at the doctor for stitches to be removed. PS: Get yourself checked annually. I am glad I did.

Stay well and wishing for a speedy recovery my friend!

I was driving to Denver a few days ago and I saw a Rossmonster driving up to Eisenhower tunnel. Your photos have been fantastic, but seeing one in the flesh was incredible. What an amazing vehicle.

Upon delivery day at Rossmonster my rig is now insured with Progressive insurance as Travelers would not insure this monster. I am about half through the insurance year with Travelers and so I expected a refund of around $600-$700. Today I received a check for the whooping amount of $17.00. When I inquired about this I was told that I lost the multi-car discount and they increased the premium on the other car (my son's car that is in my name) because it is still my son and myself registered as the driver, but only one vehicle. That one vehicle now costs about $6,900 per year to insure with Travelers.

This is so fucked up (pardon my french).

Holly crap I had no idea, but after someone posted prices on these things 500k plus guess it makes sense suck but kinda get it.

That is the cost for his son's car with Travelers company. Not the cost of his rossmonster with Progressive. I suspect his rossmonster is significantly less than that.

Holly crap thought was the truck. Been 25yrs since I had kids on the insurance policy.
Yeah, the truck is ~$2,500 per year. The cost mentioned earlier is for a 2022 Mazda 3 Sedan with a now 19-year old teenage boy on the policy. He caused an accident almost 3 years ago + he was involved in an accident in January of this year that is held against us even though just a few weeks ago it was ruled that (correctly) the other driver was at fault. The insurance situation is so messed up ... If I would have any hair left, I would have lost it in the last 10 months alone :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:

For visibility, our F350 build with Statefarm runs just shy of $300 a month, and I think I insured it at $275k. or $300k.. I imagine your Rossmonster build is well north of that total price so Im impressed with your total annual cost being lower than mine!

As far as your youngster goes, that seems to be pretty commonplace nowadays (others please chime in) for young drivers. By buddy with a 18 year old has his jeep crossover thing insured via progressive and I recall him complaining it was more than his other 4 vehicles (and nice ones) combined.

Its a crazy time we live in.

I’m sure the insurance prices in California are higher. Insurance has significantly increased even here in rural Illinois. Necessary evil.
