Rossmonster Truck Build – 2024 F350 (long wheelbase)

I’m sure the insurance prices in California are higher. Insurance has significantly increased even here in rural Illinois. Necessary evil.
My 2024 Tremor premium with Farmers and clean driving record in Ca is $8,300.00 was $5,000.00 I need to get it out of my company and hopefully it will be less as my personal truck.
CA SUCKS
Sorry for the highjack.

For visibility, our F350 build with Statefarm runs just shy of $300 year, and I think I insured it at $275k. or $300k...

$300/yr? or $300/mnth?

So, I made it home after traveling for a total of three weeks, 2.5 of that in my new Baja. I love this thing. I cannot describe it any other way. I've been working my day job from the road for the last 1.5 weeks, and it all works as planned. Trip/campsite planning has been a bigger issue than expected, but that is about it.

Today, I started unpacking and reorganizing. I installed a few shelves in the upper cabinets as well as some vertical dividers. I still need to build some shelves for the rear storage boxes and reorganize those before I'm ready to hit the road again. I also have a list of additional items I will be ordering this week to complete the setup.

I would have stayed out longer, but I have some skin cancer surgery tomorrow (second one this fall), and then I will deal with recovery. If all goes well, I may go for a one-week trip into the desert before being back at the doctor for stitches to be removed. PS: Get yourself checked annually. I am glad I did.

The Freedom Rig! Go anywhere and be self sufficient when you do! Congrats on this incredible setup!

I know this is not your typical update for a Tremor, but I am posting it anyways.

My plan is to work full-time from my rig and the last few weeks I already did. Overall, the build did great and I was able to remotely work my job successfully from the Rossmonster Baja. But I learned a few things and as always decided to make things better.

Today I implemented some improvements to my setup - especially my work setup in the camper. For the first few weeks, I used a monitor mounted to a traditional monitor stand, but it took up a lot of real estate on the table. I now installed an under-cabinet monitor mount, allowing me to even point the monitor toward the kitchenette and the bed area and watch movies or shows from there when not working.

I also installed a power strip to move my power setup more out of the way. Stuff you learn as you go. I installed a cable raceway to hide the cable and then mounted this multifunction power strip under cabinet near the new monitor mount. Now cables will be out of the way as well.

Last, but not least I installed a can crusher. Last week I noticed that I produced a lot more trash than before and empty cans take up a lot of space. So, the can crusher will help get the dog food cans and my sparkling water cans (hello, La Croix) into a smaller format (I do not drink sodas). I also had some deli meat that came in plastic containers and some other stuff. In the future, when I buy groceries for the camper, I will unpack food where possible and get rid of the garbage before heading out into the backcountry. The can crusher will definitely help reduce the volume of trash.

A lot of my previous experience went into the original build of my Rossmonster Baja, and the "small" changes I am making are a reflection of that. Fine-tuning at a high level. It is really just tweaking things towards a level of perfection that I will never be able to achieve anyway, but I keep pushing towards perfection as much as possible. I love this Rossmonster Baja, I really do. I think the least thing I can do is to motivate every one of you to step out of your comfort zone and see what is on the other side.

More to come ....

Uploaded a new video where I talk about my learnings from getting stuck. Please check it out and if you have not subscribed to my channel on YouTube - I would be very thankful if you do. I am trying to reach 1,000 subscribers before the year is over and I am 80 short. Thank you so much!!!!!

A couple of weeks ago I posted a lot of pictures about the USMC Osprey helicopters landing at my campsite at an abandoned military airstrip from WWII. Finally got around to put it all into a video. Take a look at all the touch and go landing exercises and of course how one of them landed right next to my rig.

Finally upgraded to the Carli Torsion Sway Bar. After being "bounced around" once too often :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::cool: off-road I decided it is time. Can't wait to hit the road again in a week or two and test it. Until then I just admire the "shiny bling"

Very nice… fyi on the end links, add it to your list of checks on a regular basis. Learned the hard way last week, one of my end links cap came in screwed. Feedback from forum is that this is known to happen so make sure you keep an eye on it.

Thank you for pointing this out. I will add this to my checklist.
