FYI 2022 Updated Production Schedule

wonder where mine is at in the process if it was started production on 11/24, but last "ping" i saw was yesterday for 12/5. Does anything else on window sticker change that may indicate anything?
Mine didn’t. Just the date.

Good share. I think it was causing more issues for Ford and customer services. We all know there were some melted snowflakes when we witnessed truck turn-a-rounds much sooner than others. My guess is people were likely using this as ammo when dealing with Ford.

OR

It's completely unrelated and Ford did an upgrade.

Do you blame Ford for shutting it down, look at all the people who are demanding information, want it now, calling Ford and wanting to know why it’s been 3 weeks and no VIN & why not, thrn they call back the next day and the next day

We have people here that want it right now, have to have it or else, have harassed dealers jumping from one vehicle to another as they can not wait, they need it right now & multiply that by hundreds of people

In days gone past, you placed the order and waited till the dealer called you saying it’s in, now in the era of the instant gratification idiots that can not wait & “need it now”

Had a conjugal visit, now waiting to get the come get her call & even better under a winter storm watch if some kind & they are saying it’s possible to get up to 12 inches of snow 🤮🤮

Awesome looking rig!! At least you have the appropriate rig for a snow storm. You'll be fine.

Nope. I don't blame Ford at all if they proactively derailed the code. Sounds like we are on the same page.

As I mentioned, when people use this information as ammo (which was not intended to be released to end users this way) a company is likely going to chase down the leak and fix it. I know I would.

I'd imagine the supply chain issues only magnified this issue, and likely would not have been addressed if the pandemic/supply issues never happened. America likes their fast food.

Forget where I was reading it, but the logistics of building a F250/350 is unreal, Ford does not stock all the parts in huge warehouses but instead they order them and then do a dance so the pieces parts come in from all the vendors in time to build the vehicle

From a logistic perspective custom orders are a nightmare

Not quite sure yet if we will keep the bling & roll with it, or black some of it out toning it down a little

HH6 wants to find some kind of wheels that look like the OBS forged Alcoa ones, not sure what I think of that 🤪

Been told weather guessers are hit or miss due to mountains and wind patterns, hopefully we don’t get dumped on, I’m totally not ready 🤣🤣

True to some extent with all mass produced vehicles. While the Ford plants are designed to have the capability to run fully unique orders they run most efficiently when the larger line-side items are built in batches to manage the logistics within the plant.

They also follow the JIT (Just In Time) manufacturing philosophy... also referred to as "Pull" where components are replaced as used, vs. stockpiled en masse

We did some "pull" work where I am too. Had the "rope" and all. As well as The Toyota Way. ;)

Well stated.

There will be some adjustments to manufacturing philosophy, I believe. Ford and their dealership network seem to be pushing ordered vehicles over stocking dealer orders. This will force some production adjustments. It also affects the supply chain in the same manner in which it affects Ford. If you step back and consider what Ford actually makes, this will be more clear to you. Ford outsources nearly everything with the exception of the engine, transmission, frame, and body panels. Virtually everything else is manufactured elsewhere, shipped to the plant JIT, then assembled. All automotive manufacturers who mass produce vehicles have this philosophy. Small niche manufacturers generally do not.

It is called JIT.... All of the automotive industry has been doing it for about at least 30 years now.

Surely we're hitting 500 pages soon! I think when I joined this page in June we were 200, maybe? Hope all you fine folk awaiting delivery get em before Christmas.

Those of you with the winch, are you seeing the winch arrive ahead of the truck, with the truck, or after the truck?
