There are many rumors, many misinformed or clueless dealers and a ton of speculation out there but here is the current schedule concerning Super Duty production for 2022. This was as of Friday which takes into account the chip shortage and plant closures.

Line Balancing in Manufacturing Defined​

Line balancing is a production strategy that involves balancing operator and machine time to match the production rate to the Takt time.

Takt time is the rate at which parts or products must be produced in order to meet customer demand.

For a given production line, if production time is exactly equal to Takt time, then the line is perfectly balanced. Otherwise, resources should be reallocated or rearranged to remove bottlenecks or excess capacity. In other words, the quantities of workers and machines assigned to each task in the line should be rebalanced to meet the optimal production rate.

Realistically the earliest retail orders with a priority 19 or better should be built and shipped by September but could slip to October if supply issues get worse. Buckle in man, it’s out of our control. Hope for the best prepare for the worst.

I ordered mine at the beginning of April and the dealer said don’t worry it will be built in June with late July delivery, I’m guessing it’s now late July or August build with September or October delivery at best. Who knows tho, maybe Ford will surprise us all. Either way it will be worth the wait!

If its going to look like September with the amount of 2021's sitting out at KY Motor Speedway Ford will go Bankrupt and I will probably cancel my order.

Seems like the average prediction is 3-4 months for delivery. I’ll take the over.

These dates slipping further and further was part of the reason I couldn't wait. I made out pretty well on the sale of my two previous vehicles and was going to rent a car for 2 months or so, but once it went out to beyond that, it just became counterproductive. And the dealers around me aren't willing to deal on what SD inventory they have left. Some have even started to increase prices above MSRP.

I put myself into a position where I needed a vehicle now, and that's why I picked up the F150 last week. I do imagine that F150 inventory will slack off too and the deals on those will also dry up or reduce.
