FYI 2022 Updated Production Schedule

So talked to Ford this morning. I ordered my truck in March and put money down on it. In their system if I don't have my truck bought by 7/6 I lose my deposit. Make sure to check with your dealer and get that date extended so you don't lose your deposit at no fault of your own.

I’d tell them that due to their “system” they will be losing this sale and all future ones from me and any acquaintances of me.

Sounds fishy to me. they don't start building 2022 till 7/10

The dealer surely had knowledge of the current scheduling uncertainties when you submitted the deposit. Could be the software automatically dated the deposit pre chip snafu.

Im a 2021, not a 22. Whats frustrating is my original build date was supposed to be late April. And Now they are telling me build date is 6/22. I know this is impacting the start of the 22 builds.

I think the 21s are due to finish up by July 7th. Tentatively the Kentucky plant is tscheduled to begin production of the 22s the week of July 19th according to the most recent update. But things could change.

So weird that this chip shortage appeared at a time when used/previous year car inventories were high on dealer lots causing a sudden spike in used/existing car sales that cleared out inventory at ridiculous prices only to be miraculously on the brink of being solved as prices are becoming unsustainable for exaggerated profits. Gotta love corporate America

They build 2021's and then switch over to 2022. No big changes from 21's to 22's. Few days off over 4th of July week and on to 22's, At least your 2021 won't be sitting on a race track some where for month's hopefully. Just trying to help find the bright side, :)

I physically went down to the dealer and inquired. Turns out the saleswoman told me wrong, she was discussing the coupon that expires 7/6 that I am apparently not eligible for as I am using an Z-plan. I was a little peeved I had to drive down to get this clarified because the saleswoman is incapable of emailing or calling with updates.

If you’re referring to the PCO expiring on the 6th…. That will in fact stack with x plan if I’m not mistaken. I would fight to get that applied. I had mine expiring 7/6 locked in on a 2022 order that won’t arrive for a few more months likely.

If by coupon you are referring to a PCO from Ford - I believe that you should be able to use that in conjunction with x-plan pricing.

Never mind, I misunderstood. I thought the build weeks were getting pushed back. They aren’t. The week of 6/14 they will be scheduling for 8/2 builds.
My salesman told me yesterday something similar. He said week of 6/14, Ford was scheduling a huge batch of 2022 super duties for production for week of 8/2.
Since I ordered on 4/20, he was thinking and hoping mine would get picked up for for production 8/2 week.
I'll be calling on Friday 6/18 to check status

I thought so as well. The sales manager said it absolutely doesnt apply

Tell him he’s wrong I guess. I remember a document floating around at some point regarding “incentive protection” you could show him. It irks me how some dealers and salespeople know so little some times.

I looked at my plan. I was wrong. I am on a Z plan. So it doesn't apply.

X plan is the only plan that works with PCO but I think he was speaking about z plan

I asked my dealer (I have been dealing with the General Manager) if he had heard any news on my 2022 build and his response is below. He is a straight shooter and has been honest and upfront so far.

"I am doing well, I’d be better if we could get some new cars from the factory though! Your order is showing a build week of 7/26. Historically, that would mean we’d see it by 8/26. However, right now they are building units, then they’re sitting at the plant waiting on the ECM to be complete and installed, microchip shortage, before they deliver them. So it could hit a delay once it’s built, but it will get priority over any stock order for the first available chip. I’ll have a little more concrete information once it’s produced. If it goes into hold status, I’ll know it’s waiting for a chip, if it doesn’t, we should see it ship quickly. I’ll stay on top of it and let you know any updates as I get them."

Nice to have a dealer that responds with a decent, thorough reply…
