Anybody have a 2011-2016 6.7L truck? I'm needing a couple measurements of the fuel door 'pocket cutout' in the middle.

The caps I've developed have a really cool feature that's never been done before and I can't wait to share more when things get closer to production. I also think the Lock Picking Lawyer (YouTube) would appreciate these caps.

Bill of materials will be locked in by the end of this coming week. 3M VHB is already set to be delivered tomorrow for the cap holder portion.

Right now I’m making the design easier to manufacture on a 5 axis or a live tool lathe. I’m going to get some sintered prototypes made next since they’re more dimensionally accurate than regular 3D printing.

VHB discs came today. Doing some adhesion and peel strength testing on them to make sure it bonds well enough to the plastic used on the fuel door cover. I'll probably include an alcohol prep pad with each kit anyways.
 
First high resolution stereolithography prototypes were ordered and should be here on the 13th. I’m picking off low hanging fruit in the interim and figuring out shipping box sizes. :)

If you have not done so already @BroncoHooves , get a design patent before you share this everywhere. I am sure that will delay it if you've not - but I'd like the cash to go into your pocket in the USA.
 
^^^^ Highly debatable how worthwhile that would be.
It wouldn't hurt to start the convoluted process but I
would not delay production and sales before getting one.

Patents are useless if you don't have the cash and time to defend them. I already have two on prior products and don't plan on getting more (was alot of wasted money), unless publishers clearing house shows up with a giant piece of cardboard. The patent system is also flawed and needs overhauled.

I honestly don't know. My response was from a level of disappointment in the system, and took you for your word. I miss the world when things mattered.

I think you are right, the lawyers make all the profits. same deal for copyrights and copyright infringements. However if you are planing a larger scale operation then it may be a different animal. Someone could accuse you of theft. It's the kind of world we live in.
 
@BroncoHooves since you've moved away from the design where the fuel and DEF caps locked together and they now operate seemingly independently, any chance you could make one of these for the gas trucks?

If you're open to it might be worth a dedicated thread to gauge interest. I know I would be in for one!

Is the gasoline filler neck the same as the diesel? If so, that would help.

It appears to be a different part number, but I don't know if that's because it's entirely different or just different length/bends. Safe to say they can't be assumed to be the same.

Got a pic of the inside of your fuel door area? I'd be able to tell right away visually.
