I don’t think the diesel pump will fit into the gas nozzle. Could be wrong, but I’m pretty sure that when the wrong type of fuel is pumped into the tank, it’s almost always gas into diesel.
You are correct. The gas trucks (Ford at least) have a baffle that only lets the small nozzles in.

I guess it would be possible to still dispense whatever you want in there though lol.

Funny story. About 20 years ago a couple buddies and I packed up and went to bike week and the Daytona 200. Early in the week we were riding and stopped for gas. Buddy wasn’t paying attention and filled his R1 with diesel fuel. Made it about 1/4 mile before his bike died. Spent the rest of that day hauling the bike back to the place we were staying, finding a place to get spark plugs, draining fuel and changing plugs. What a PITA. Funny looking back, but man did it suck back then. 😆

Back when diesel was loaded with the good sulfur! :D

I’ve had many diesels and I think most stations have both a large fill nozzle and a small for diesel. Typically at different pumps or on opposite sides of the same pump.

Not trying to rush you or anything @BroncoHooves but I’m wondering if you have an eta for when these will be available.

I think I like your design better but with BEM having both a diesel and def cap available I want to weigh my options. If you are a couple months from selling I’d wait but if it’s 6 months to a year I may just go with the BEM option.

We don't put out ETAs anymore since beta testing, done correctly, takes time in addition to manufacturing taking about 3x longer than it should with a broken economy and supply chain. If you want a ballpark, my guess would be within two months, provided testing goes well with someone who puts alot of time and miles on their truck.

I can say that our design uses a proper key and manipulation resistant lock cylinder and also isn't fiddly to use. You can always upgrade to ours later if you need something now. (y)

You haven't seen the cool portion of the design yet, and when you will you'll understand why it's a joy to use compared to OE and other locking caps.

If you need a beta tester let me know. I put 42,000 miles on my 2020 in 17 months prior to trading it in for the 2022. I drive my truck 8 hours a day and fill up about every 4 days.

I've been reading through this forum for almost a year now, but signed up for this. Lots of great info, but really looking forward to this fuel & DEF cap set. I signed up for the watchlist to see where this goes, and hope there will be a group buy once it's ready! Thanks!

Thank you :) Glad to see you here as a fellow FTE member.

In. 😎

i did see where std fuel door required.
will it work with a AMI locking door?
im interested, like the interlocking design
and currently use a bem cap.

Thank you! It may actually work with an aftermarket fuel door, but our truck has an OEM door, so there is no way to confirm fitments on trucks that aren't in our stable. There's several aftermarket doors available, so it wouldn't be fair for us to assume they will all fit the same nor would it be fair for us to assume our cap holder will work on the aftermarket fuel door if dimensions are different. If the aftermarket door doesn't project further into the fuel box area more than the OEM one, than I would say it 'should' fit.

Oh, there's no interlocking design by the way (have to read past few pages). We came up with something more robust and also easier to use.
