I don't think that will be too viable of a thing for us to ship kits without locks and in an unassembled state. The caps were designed to work with the geometry of the known camlock. Anything else is a big gamble.

Fair enough. It makes sense because not all camlocks are 100% identical. Even when I changed out the lock on my truck toolbox, I still had to do some trimming and fitting of the latch.

Let me phrase it this way. Is it possible for me to remove the cam lock so I can attempt to put my own in? Or is it permanently in place?

You can, it will just take some work is all. Alternatively, if you really like the supplied security of the included lock cylinder, you might like to retrofit your other items to have the same lock. I wanted to avoid tubular and wafer style locks.

I signed up for Bronco's waiting list, but just curious, what's the difference between his and the BEM besides material? Not trying to stir anything up at all, solely want to know what's the deciding point for you: cosmetics or function. I looked at the pics of the plastic one posted by another member and have had some contact with the BEM peeps, and I get how theirs works. I am pretty interested to see how the OP "solves the puzzle" with a locking DEF cap, since there's not much to lock onto on the DEF pipe.

I'll keep it short since it's the internet and people will think it's stirring up something regardless of how you state your intentions. One uses a real key and 1/4 turn manipulation resistant lock cylinder and is not fiddly to use, the other doesn't.

I'm a light-hearted individual on here, so please don't take my post in the wrong way. If you think you need a 'lock' solution quickly, by all means that is your decision, especially if you live in a bad area.
There's room for more than one product in this industry.

Luckily the cap holder won't be going anywhere near your sticker

The 3M VHB was a joke and didn't survive 2 days with 200 grams of load on the moment arm applied, so we designed something more robust and more out of the way. For what it's worth, the VHB stuck perfectly to the nylon cap holder but lost adhesion from the plastic fuel door.

Another benefit is now the cap holder shouldn't interfere with people's air chuck fittings they have installed in their fuel door pocket. A blessing and silver lining.

I'm surprised the VHB didn't hold. They use that to attach gopros to helmets all the time. More weight plus impact loading.

I missed the video because of the chops. I am waiting for your cap, as the whole idea of a screw type lock coming down on the plastic filler neck threads it questionable, if I understand this video correctly. I am betting a large flat heat screw driver could pop that off. Maybe I am wrong, but I will never know.
