BMC fog lights. What lights? What colors? How do you like them?

Just had the Baja Design Squadron SAE fogs and Squadron Pro’s installed. I love the look, but hate the cornering lighting feature now. Is Forscan the only way to disable that feature (on a 2023)?

Yes in forscan under BCM you choose fog light type. Choose fog only.

This install on a 23/24 MY Tremor does not show any rubber pieces having to be installed. It seems that the metal mount is bolted into the same holes that the steel bracket is bolted into that they removed. See it here
Is this how yours installed?
Look at that handsome guy on the left! Lol, this video was before they added the rubber isolating pad.

I'll watch that when I have some free time. Take a look at post #48 in this thread. You'll see the aluminum bracket we bent up. There was nothing in the BMC kit for that area. That's where the rigidity was lost before we braced it back up. Fwiw my truck is a '26
OK I went back to post #48 and looked closely at your bracket you manufactured which I copied the pic below. Very nice job! I am guessing you did both sides freehand and did not draw anything up. Just measured it out and determined what the length and width it needed to be and where the bends were needed. I am guessing you have a break and maybe plasma cutting tools, drill press, obviously material on hand etc. I see that BMC gets accolades on their support which I do not doubt that they are very good. However it seems to me that doing something with their fog light kit like what you have done would be very beneficial for all involved. Especially if it would make it as rigid as what it was with the OEM light.

How far down did you go with the piece behind the BMC bracket where you have to bolts securing it? Were the holes and the bolts already there for the top section up inside the bumper? You did a couple of cutouts there I can see to make a nice fit. I can see why the Baja kit on your brother's rig was much more stable since it uses the factory parts. I do like the factory look of the BMC but I also like stability as well.

If you have any dimensions on the piece you used to make it along with the bends at what distance and the holes for the bolts etc that would be great but my guess is you do not. I appreciate the picture and your input.

Video from BMC used to install my kit,
gives a pretty detailed discussion on placement of rubber pads

This is just my experience, having my kit on for 30,000 plus miles couple of winters in ID, along with off road at Sedona and Big Bend Christmas Mountain no problems to date with the pads

Removed my front wheels and tires for couple of reasons, much better access to fog light area, removing/installing brackets, making adjustments, and running wiring harness, and installing Balance Masters at the same time.

Having a set of GoJaks, from a former lifetime, made handling weight of wheels and tires a roll off/roll on proposition. GoJak supporting the wheel/tire takes weight of wheel studs easy on easy off, = 0 back strain

I watched that install too. But I think that what is being referred to is the stability not being as good with just using rubber pieces with double stick tape on them. I cannot say from my own experience but I know I like things to be solid and if they were solid and then your replacement device takes that stability away to me, that is not a good thing. But again I cannot speak from experience.

I would hope the rubber is just acting as isolation or a gasket to keep from marring up the painted bumper. There should be some sort of bolted attachment as well.

The BD ones leave a lot to be desired but they do come with a chintzy cut to fit piece of rubber to install and small studs welded to the face place to be secured through the OEM push clip openings.

Understand the comments regarding stability - discovered that there's adjustment that can be made to the brackets themselves, with fine tuning adjustments were made on the each light's mounting bracket.

I just installed the kit. Bolt up time was just about an hour for the first one, 30 minutes for the second. Wiring took 30-45 minutes using upfitter one. BTW, upfitter one is rated for 25 amps, these two XL80s draw about half that.

Aiming took forever, that is a reflection on me more than the kit.

Fog lights have a really wide coverage, good to see deer and such.

The XL80s are tremendous.

This is with high beams, fogs and XL80s on.

Hey man thanks for the compliment. Sorry I didn't keep any templates or anything as I didn't have any intention on doing it again lol. We cut the aluminum peices out with a band saw and yes, used a brake to bend it all up and a mill for the holes and of course some stainless hardware..
I snapped a pic this morning so you can eyeball how far it is in the back, also you can see where I utilized a piece of the stock bracket with the 2 push in plastic deals to hold the rubber in place (all the way to the upper left of the pic)... it came out nice.
(apologies for late reply, I don't get on here every day)

Well thanks everyone for helping me spend money (and for some ways to save money with codes). Been a crazy week of call at work and figured great time to treat myself as only slept 3 hours a night 3 nights in a row before working 10-12hr each day after post call…

After some discussion with the guys at BMC I placed orders for my double deuce tremor. Will be going with s2 SAE clear next to amber squadron pros!!!!! Think it will compliment the balance of Amber and clear I have going on with OEM Amber clearance lights and Amber raptor grill lights with OEM fogs remaining.
Finally got my shipping info!!! It’s been a good day for the double deuce! New wheels ordered for steal of a price. BMc kit on the way. Warn black bubs delivered (so when I don’t run caps with the all black wheels the silver OEM hubs don’t stick out like sore thumb).

I have been on the fence between BMC and BD fog light pocket replacements. I saw that DD has the SS6 SAE fog/wide out, I think I'll wait to see if anyone utilizes these in a kit first. They would be awesome in the Trailguard some of you have, but I don't think that's a easy mod from looking at the pictures and dimensions.

Went with white/white - Rigid with the SAE Fogs.. kinda regret not getting the brighter fogs.

Installed mine. Brackets with the thicker rubber isolator they provided seem to pushed the lights a good 1/4 to 1/2 inch lower than adjustments allowed. After f'n with it for acouple hours, I just went to the hardware store and picked up some more spacers and slightly longer carriage bolts. Everything is pretty close now.

Looks great my friend! When in doubt, go the brightest route (hey, that rhymed 😁).

Looks good! I would think they'd have some options so that the insulators could work as a spacer, sort of. Any vibrations at lower speeds?

I went with the brightest route, the APEX with White XL80 and White S1. The only issue is how often I get flashed at night when I drive with my fog lights on, which is always.
:p

Just straight up McBlasting everyone's eyeballs at night 😂😂😂

In fairness, you have a non SAE optic designed strictly for off-road use, with a partial spot lens which is absolutely crazy on the eyes of the incoming traffic. That’s why you get flashed. The fog optic, which is intended to be in that spot and is SAE, does not do that.

You should not be driving with that pod on roads with an incoming traffic.
