BMC fog lights. What lights? What colors? How do you like them?

I went with the brightest route, the APEX with White XL80 and White S1. The only issue is how often I get flashed at night when I drive with my fog lights on, which is always.
:p

I did the same.....ordered about 4 weeks ago. I figured it was a great way to get rid of the brushed chrome bezel :)

In fairness, you have a non SAE optic designed strictly for off-road use, with a partial spot lens which is absolutely crazy on the eyes of the incoming traffic. That’s why you get flashed. The fog optic, which is intended to be in that spot and is SAE, does not do that.

You should not be driving with that pod on roads with an incoming traffic.
they told me it was a fog light replacement? What is a non SAE optic, it should be connected to a switch not as a standard fog?

Note the fogs are the S1, not the XL80. I would never drive with the XL80 on.

It is a fog light replacement, in that it replaces where the fog lights were originally located. An SAE optic in regards to a fog light, in the most simplistic terms is it has a cut off that doesn't project the light into opposing driver's eyes. The S1 doesn't have an SAE lense, only the S2 and Squadron. It looks like you have the wide cornering lenses which still have a lot of spill which is causing glare....which is why you are getting flashed.

I run the S2 SAE as my fog and a pro squadron yellow in wide cornering that I reserve for poor weather with no other traffic around.

This is a comparison of the squadrons but it'll give you an idea of the beam pattern of the wide cornering. See how the trees and the top of the fence is lit up a lot more than the SAE version? The reflection of the sign at the end of the road is a lot more intense as well.

Ok, it wasn’t clear from your post which pods you were talking about. I’m glad as i got nervous coming across you with that XL80 ON on our NJ roads😊

As to why they would flash you with that smaller fog pod ON, that’s hard to say. That should not be blinding. Are you sure it’s not your regular headlights that blind them? You got a level, did you adjust the headlights downward after that? If not, that could be the reason.

I dig the XL80s as fogs. :D

I've RARELY ran into a situation where fogs are actually needed. The squadron pros will serve as my fogs (hence the amber lens). The xl80s are there b/c BD doesnt make an XL81.

After I got the Backcountry on, I do not think my guy adjusted the stock headlights. I will ask him though.

link to grill lights https://customautoworksstore.com/product/2023-26-super-duty-grill-light/ recommend you add the 2020-2024 Plug & Play Adapter -Super Duty with Led Headlights, here's the link https://customautoworksstore.com/pr...-adapter-super-duty-with-quad-led-headlights/ it makes wiring much simpler.

Using the plug and play, adapter plugs into headlight harness when head lights are on grill lights are on.

A tip the instructions have you go thru the wheel well to connect the harnes - having a 6.7 I found it easier to pull the engine air filter box giving me easier access to headlight connector - rather than dealling with wheel well liner and brackets

I also endorse the quality and plug and play ease of this product!

I'd like others to confirm, as I don't have a 2026 available to compare to my 2024

Research indicates, the 2026 Super Duty Platinum grille mounting and attachment points appear to be the same as 2023 - as they're both fifth-generation Super Duties.

I see on other aftermarket sites list the same grille assemblises as dired fit across model years 2023-2026.

Which usually means that:
  • Upper grille bolt locations are unchanged
  • Side clip geometry appears unchanged
  • Hood latch support alignment is the same
  • Headlight/grille interface is the same across 2023–2026
  • Front camera and emblem mounting locations are generally retained

Like to follow up it'll have to wait though truck is in bodyshop - a little off road excursion caused by someone running stop sign

Any vendors on here sell the bmc apex kit? I have a set of xl80 lights. I need the kit, bd s1 lights with the harness to plug into my factory fog light harness and an upfitter wireing kit for my xl 80 lights.
