BMC fog lights. What lights? What colors? How do you like them?

It was actually my idea; he just got me drunk and stole the info 🤪.

Don't make me hurt you!!!

I got my order in this afternoon as well. Mix and matching the pro Squad and sport S2 with the lenses & colors I was looking for. I had a real tough time not pulling the trigger on the Apex L kit, but the S1 beam pattern wasn't going to get it done for what I'm looking for. The Apex L is a really nice looking setup, and one powerful light to tuck in there and make it look OEM.

Thank you everyone for their contributions, special thanks for the comment about the facebook discount code which saved me an additional $300, and for anyone that's concerned, BMC's web site, their fast email responses & good communication , and their personal call back by Jake to get a special manual order in today, makes them an excellent outfit to do business with.

Fast responses, Jake giving me cell to call/text. Awesome people to deal with. If they didn’t have answer they wouldn’t BS but would say I don’t know but so and so does let me get back to you. And they would. Excited to get kit.

Need it to dethaw as I’m not putting these in when it’s -10 out lol. Also have to finish mother in laws kitchen remodel and get daughters 10th bday completed before I take so me time. But these will be ready when that comes around!!!!

Just had the Baja Design Squadron SAE fogs and Squadron Pro’s installed. I love the look, but hate the cornering lighting feature now. Is Forscan the only way to disable that feature (on a 2023)?

You can always wire the fogs to an upfitter switch instead of the factory fog harness.

Thanks. That’s definitely a work around. I have the Pro spots on an outfitter switch and was just trying to not use another outfitter switch. I may have to rethink that.

TOTM entry right here!

I have them linked to the oem fog switch, while i feed them power from the battery, not the oem circuit which might handle the higher output but not designed for anything other than oem fogs. Most importantly i have cornering feature enabled on both sides at once, i actually like the feature, but did not like that it activated one side at a time.

Looking to purchase the bmc kit. Gonna be running a Baja design squadron pro and s2 pro. Need help/recommendations on lens and color. My initial thought is to do Squadron pro combo clear lens and the s2 pro amber wide/cornering. Any one have this setup with pictures and how the light spread is. Definitely open to suggestions.

I had amber lens on my squadron pro and s2 pro initially then @Optimus🤖 talked me into the factory amber lens and am extremely happy with those. Nicely matches the other amber lights on the truck.

I have not yet received my kit as I just ordered like a 8-9 days ago. But I went with clear SAE s2 and amber squadron for the reason of balanced appearance. On my ‘22 the kit keeps my OEM fog strip which is clear. I have Amber Raptor lights behind grill and cab lights up top. So I feel this will keep a nice balance and I can run the s2s in clear with my OEM fogs for daily driving with increased visibility and better critter eye identification when driving in to hospital on call in middle of night. Then in center most mount I’ll have Amber squadron pro for in-climate weather or off road driving as this will help with more of the zone approach BD discusses. If I eventually do some piller pods on sdhq mounts with combos I’ll have a solid set up for my needs.

that's close to my setup. I went with the S2 Sport w/ amber wide-corning though, and for a reason. The Squads are pro/combo/clear.

I resurrected this thread with your concerns in mind mainly because @Tugboat had the Dirt Guard (which I had installed early January) combined with the BMC kit. The DG has some nice little pockets made for S2's. I ordered that with the S2 Pro clear combo lens back in December. I've been waiting on those, got a call yesterday and those are supposed to be next Tuesday. I'm local to him, so I'll pick them up when they're in. I ordered the BMC last Friday, and got a call from them Tuesday telling me they didn't have to S2-SPORT in the amber wide cornering in stock, seeing if I might go with something different to expidite shipping. I'd thought this through though, and told them I'd wait, and they were really cool about it. Told me it might take 'em a few weeks, so I'm waiting. The BMC group is really good.

All this is with the idea that I can move the sports and the pro S2 between the two positions and trade lens between the two. I'll be able to try the pro's on the outside with the amber wide cornering if the sports don't throw enough lateral light. I may end up with the S2 sports or maybe the pro's w amber wide cornering under the Dirt Guard with the idea that if it's fog/rain/snow, I won't be outdriving my visability cu'z I'm not hauling ass anyway. The very worse case is I spend an extra 50 with baja, and get another set of lenses that get me dialed in. Long term, I want something on the stern, and if need be, I'll order the last S2 accordingly to get exactly what I need on front, otherwise it might be a couple of S1's in back.

Like Tug, I spent a lot of time on Baja's site using their comparison/Zone tools. What I'm looking for is being able to run the BMC S2's off the fog switch and set them up so's not to be too obnoxious or get pulled over if I'm running them with the regular lights, and can decide if amber or clear gets it done. Baja's support to change lenses allows that.

Picture-wise, I wont be able to contribute an opinion for a month. I wasn't in a hurry before this, and got 200 off the dirt guard on sale, and 20% off the BMC kit when the gittin' was good, so it saved me 450 or so. Somethin' else to think of. And the level 3 Dirt Guard is a 10 out 10 for what it is, and what it does, in spite a proud price tag. The extra set of S2's secure, high, and tight underneath while keeping a stock look makes it worth it. The only thing I might add is an After Market nerf above the winch to frame it out, protect the painted bumper, and keep my stadium lighting options open if I ever want to go that way. Otherwise, I like my trucks with a stealthy stock look with serious functionality, so that's how I approach this. Pictures can follow in three or four weeks.

I appreciate the detailed write up. I hope my post isn't considered a hijack thought it was pertinent and hopefully bring value to OPs topic. I look forward to seeing photos of your install and light throw. I too have been combing through the Baja design light comparison trying to get an idea. Also may need to give the DG a thorough look.

I made one of these brackets to add back support. The rubber deal is a preference thing. I didn't want to use double sided tape and plastic to hold it when the factory had done such a nice job... to each his own. I'm not saying the stuff they provided didn't work. Back to my bracket, i painted it all before install and the bumper corners are as stiff as they were when I get the truck.
Just to be clear, I love the look and now that it's done I'm super happy with it. If I didn't have a shop to work in and decades of aftermarket experience I'm sure I would've been totally fine. For anyone reading this, its not necessary to pull the front wheels if you have a way to get under the truck.

How is your mod that you made for the BMC fog light bracket working? Would you be willing to make and sell the bracket you made for the BMC Fog light kit? I watched the install and saw all the rubber. I agree it would be nice to have something there that would give the support that is needed.

It's all good, my brother has the full Baja design fog light kit that uses the stock brackets on his F250 and my bumper and his feel identical with the good ole open palm slap test.
Sorry I didn't jig up or really make notes when I made these. I can try to stick my phone up in there and snap some pics if you're gonna make some and wanna see how we did it.
Side note, I didn't use the wiring that came with the kit, I got the CB Lighting harness and it was really nice. We made up a harness with full raychem and dtm's so everything is weather tight. I even added a "spares" connector wired into the upfitters in the middle of both lights thinking I may wanna add some sort of light bar or maybe fab up a bracket for some XL's in the bumper inlet where guys sometimes put winches.

This install on a 23/24 MY Tremor does not show any rubber pieces having to be installed. It seems that the metal mount is bolted into the same holes that the steel bracket is bolted into that they removed. See it here
Is this how yours installed?

I'll watch that when I have some free time. Take a look at post #48 in this thread. You'll see the aluminum bracket we bent up. There was nothing in the BMC kit for that area. That's where the rigidity was lost before we braced it back up. Fwiw my truck is a '26

rubber can wear, compress, and deteriorate. I like his brace. If I see anything looking like a problem, I'll do something like that brace to isolate any contact and increase rigidity. As Optimus knows well, things rubbing dry like that never end well.
