Banks Ram Air CAI

MagnaFlow 5"

The 5" system is a nice kit. . If you plan to run Carli's trophy hitch, there is now a 4" stainless solution with additional clearance for larger shocks, a Carli trophy hitch, 38" tires and a B&W gooseneck hitch, all of which are issues with the stock exhaust or other existing aftermarket systems.

The 5" reduces backpressure by 82%. Some like to say there is no point to a after-DPF exhaust but Gale says if you reduce pressure post DPF, then pre DPF exhaust pressure will reduce, as should things up the line. That fancy exhaust tip they rave about sure is massive, but according to the marketing (@HeavyAssault has me paranoid now lol) it adds low pressure and makes a huge deal to get that thing flowing better.

Another reason I like the Banks CAI is the ability to relocate the factory filter minder, meaning you can simply look at that to see if your filter requires cleaning. Sure, you can open up the hosing and look old school, bit Ford already gave us this when you got the truck, it doesnt take much to just put it in the new system.
If you want to talk shop about CARB / EPA compliant performance mods for your Super Duty, reach out! We still need to get the 5" on our site...

I'm running the Banks exhaust on my 23 Tremor. I bought it primarily for looks (black tip) because I just hated the OEM chrome twin tip setup. Whoever said it doesn't look proportional on the truck- I could not disagree more. Looks perfect, looks proportional given bed length and the 35s on the truck. It sounds no different than stock but it gets completely rid of the whooshing sound that the intercooled OEM tips make at high throttle. That was annoying with the rear slider opened.

For anyone with the banks which is the most resilient? Stainless or cerakote?

I will also let others chime in, but I would almost say its a "wash" Chrome can obviously polish up super easily, but cerakote is a fantastic material. Its cleaning and high temp capabilities was developed for the firearm industry, and has a lot of overlap with hot and dirty exhaust tips.

I dont think you can go wrong with either.

Gains are noticeable, not huge, but noticeable.
That’s what my brother and I thought based on seat-of-the pants perception. We both would have bet money on it, but we couldn’t show any actual difference when we compared quarter mile times with OEM and aftermarket CAI. (S&B and Banks). Now, after our experience testing acceleration and reading Spicer’s test results, I think the only two advantages of these kits are 1) they sound cool, because they don’t mute the turbo spooling sound as much as OEM, and 2) they look cool. I’m hoping my current Tremor will last me until I’m planted, so those two benefits take a distant back seat to engine longevity.

I have this on mine for about two years now, the Cerakote black still holding up very well.

I feel like I can feel a difference between my banks CAI and the S&B I had in there before.

I most definitely can hear more -- the Banks filter is loud as hell. The filter is also massive and I find I near to clean it less. The banks kit requires you to unscrew 4 bolts to get to the filter element, whereas the S&B has a pull off style lid. So far, very stoked with the swap to BANKS.

For those in the market, You can purchase Banks & S&B Cold Air Intakes with us at WAYPOINT.

You crack me up with your sales 🤣 pitch.......clean the Banks less, does that mean more dirt is getting past it? Just kidding!!!!

I gotta pay for diesel somehow! :ROFLMAO:
You seem to take care of everyone, you came on the scene a bit late for me, already had my ticket items. Buy a gasser!!!

You got all the goodies already! Not much you need on that sweet ride.

I try to do my best with the folks on here! Everyone here is good people.

Some days I want a gasser, some days I like my 1050+ lbs ft and exhaust brake. I try to tell my fiance I need both but I get a hell no look from her... Ill keep workin on it though ;)

Ordered the Banks ram air and the Pedal monster the other day.. Looking forward to the arrival of both 👍🏼

I hear you.

I expected the aftermarket filters to make a difference — because of forty years of being told they DO make a difference, and the feeling that they HAD made a difference on my dirt bikes, jeeps and trucks. Plus they look cool and sound great.

After the discouraging subsequent research we read through, and our eventual before and after acceleration time-test comparisons on both my brother’s Dodge and my Ford, I’m convinced there’s a powerful placebo effect. We definitely got the cool look and the louder sound of the turbo spooling (which we both liked), but no measurable improvement was reflected in the acceleration times.

When I was younger I spent a lot of money trying to make my trucks and Jeeps look cool or sound cool, but now I tend to avoid anything that will make more work or risk the longevity of my truck unless I get a significant benefit out of it. I can’t see any value in screwing with the intake on a truck that already makes 500 HP and 1200 foot pounds of torque — especially if it’s going to do nothing but make it louder.
