2023 MY Super Duty Order/Schedule/Build dates from Ford...

Yup I just got bumped back another month! 8/28 BS
Here’s my story, it’s rather entertaining.
I can laugh at the whole thing because i have no intention of taking delivery, love my 22, even more so now after all the 23 details have been revealed out in the open. Like many others, i placed an order early to see what would happen, because why not, better to have options than not.
But this is what some of the other folks who really need (or want) a 23 truck and are waiting for it impatiently must be going though. To have a VIN since Jan 12 and having been pushed back for production for over half a year is UNPRECEDENTED for Ford in the previous years. Usually in 21/22, a VIN would get a production date and in the worst case be delayed by a month or two or three, but never 8 months!
This loaded lariat will likely still get build and delivered by end of year and someone will happily snatch it off the dealer’s lot without ever realizing how long this thing has been brewing with a VIN and a shifting build week.

Same exact series of events for me as well. What a joke!
This is my first Ford truck and had I experienced the delays many of you have they would have lost a potential customer after just a few delays, they almost did. I hope this truck turns out to be everything I am hoping for. How many of you will purchase another Ford truck after everything they've put you through?
I have never been loyal to any one brand so I wouldn't have a problem moving on if a car company showed they didn't care about keeping their customers satisfied. I'm seeing more 2024 Silverado's on the road than 2023 Ford SD trucks. It's odd that GM isn't suffering from as many supply chain issues as Ford is. How is it that they can redesign a truck and ship them out within 90 days of building them? Ford needs to start investigating the leadership failures that is causing them to lose customers.

I have a person I work with that her Chevy has been just as delayed as my F 250. She was told she would should have it in mid May. We are still both waiting on delivery.
There's a guy on youtube who has already purchased and taken delivery of two 2024 Silverado HD's. One is an LTZ dually and the other is the High Country. He ordered both of them a few months after he ordered a Ford SD, which he doesn't have a build date for. I'm sure there are exceptions to the rule for every brand but generally speaking based on what I'm seeing on the road it seems like GM is having far fewer issues. Hopefully you and the person you work with get your trucks soon. In my case, I ordered on March 1 and my truck was built by May 12. That was quicker than I anticipated.
Mine is built it is sitting in the railyard in OKC for 3 weeks and not moved to the dealer. I am less then 10 miles from the truck and cannot get it. They must have put it in a corner and staked all the other vehicles in front of it.
Same exact situation I'm in. I had the same thought as you. My truck is probably buried in a back row and they just keep stacking more vehicles in front of it.
I can only imagine the frustration you guys are feeling of not getting your trucks in a reasonable amount of time. I know how Ford can operate sometimes, I work for them and they don't always get it right. But, I would like to hope that with every unfortunate story of repeated delays, there is at least one or more situation(s) where someone gets their vehicle in a reasonable amount of time.
I have to assume this because my truck got finished being built yesterday, 36 days after I ordered it. Granted, it could be a while till it is delivered. I hate to let that out on here because I see so many that haven't been so lucky. I just want to put it out there so if there are some of you who haven't had to wait an extremely long time, it's hard to not feel guilty and keep quiet about it.

I have been truly amazed by the fact that there seems to be no rhyme or reason to the builds scheduling. I do understand that it is materials related but wow. Some people waiting over six months and some people getting a new truck in a few weeks including shipping.

Its gotta be tough to not start taking this b.s. personally. They've gotta be messing with you, right? I'm being facetious, knowing that the Ford machine doesn't care about the individual customer and is focused on what it can build the cheapest and fastest.
What also makes me shake my head is seeing people on Facebook say that they ordered in March and already have their truck and April orders being delivered soon. I do wonder in the current climate if the higher trims are really that much more profitable than the others. In the past, Ford would have to offer factory incentives and Ford Credit would offer low to no interest, all eating into profits and typically on the lower trims. With Ford getting full price on everything they sell, there may not be as much financial incentive to build the higher trims.
If i was genuinely excited about a 23 and was waiting in anticipation of this particular truck, then yes i would be very upset and take it personally, especially after seeing so many people ordering in 2023 and taking deliveries of near identical HO tremors a few months later.
How and why is Ford pushing back 8 months a build that already has a VIN, while at the same time someone gets a new VIN and is build near identical truck in a span of few months. Makes you wonder what fucking morons are running the scheduling and planning systems over there at KTP.
But, as i said, i’m not really waiting on this truck and it is not personal. I’m just an observer with an order in the system, sympathizing with the other folks in the same situation.
In 21/22, when we we waiting for our trucks, we thought it could not get any worse, that it was an absolute bottom for Ford allocation and scheduling systems that could not handle the stress and volume of retail customer orders. Well, guess what, it is a new model year, yet it is the same exact shit show in 23, and in some aspects it is even worse than it was in 22.
The dealership has elevated my situation and the owner is now involved. There is no excuse for a new vehicle to be sitting in a lot for almost a month.
Very well put. I ordered on 10/28 knowing it was a job 2 because of the BAP. So I kind of figured may or June. Well here I am in June with no Vin or build date. So based on other comments if there is a miracle this Thursday I might get a build of September. All the while we have trucks ordered in March and April being delivered already. No communication and probably more frustrating no rhyme or reason for scheduling.
All you guys with late summer/fall build dates and deliveries should just hold out for a 2024 now. Unless of course you can get a nice discount...

I am glad to hear that your dealer has elevated things and is doing all they can to get your new rig to you. Hopefully I dont have to go through the same BS. I think you should get the chief's mess together to go fix where your truck is located

I posted this on the BAP thread also… I ordered a truck back in October and for some reason BAP did not get added when job 2 opened. The dealer reordered for me but I went ahead and took delivery of the first order when it arrived last month. Now the second ordered truck has arrived and should be available if anyone is interested. Located in Texas. If interested PM me and I will give you any further details for my rep at dealership.

They’re a reason no delays, you are getting a Chevy. I got lucky on the order for my ‘22 f250. It wasn’t delayed as much as some but still it was a wait. Best truck I have owned by far. Definitely will go through the waiting game again for my next one if necessary.
