Roger that. I assumed the distance on there was the amount of miles accumulated with that code.
At a loss then. It doesn't seem to affect anything and no engine light. Do you have to drive a distance after relearns? Is there a specific order in which to do the relearns?

So that code is a freeze frame, meaning it is a historical code.
As long as you don’t have an active CEL you are good.

I just had a Titan XXL 55 gallon installed and saw this limitation on this forum and that was counter to a previous conversation with Titan on the subject. I called them for clarification and told them that I am reading about this limitation for '23+ Super Duty models. They (Titan) told me this is absolutely FALSE and they use FORSCAN multiple times a day to update '23+ models with their 55 gallon tanks and it works just fine.
They did tell me that Ford has limited the dealerships to 48 gallons but state the latest version of Forscan will work with whatever number you put into the PCM module.
Does anyone have any positive experience to back this up?

S&B is coming out with a module that changes the data going to the dash, but as I understand there is not a way to change with forscan. However, I have heard of the dealers being able to make the change. I was told mine cannot as the tech they have to do these things has not purchased the most up to date software. At least that is the reason I was given.

I have heard the same several times but two different techs at Titan, where they install their tanks daily, said it works and it repeatable in scan. I will try it later today and let everyone know my results. Trust me, if it does not work I will be calling Titan for some additional advice as to what they are doing.

It absolutely cannot be done with ForScan.
I had had numerous conversations with S&B and ForScan and no joy.

Here is some worthless data
38.2% increase from 34 to 55 gallon tank
13% increase from 34 to 48 gallon (max) tank

So let’s say you get 15 mpg
34 gallon = 510 DTE
48 gallon = 720 DTE
55 gallon = 825 DTE

How many people are “really” doing the math from 48 to 55.

The PCM is only seeing a max of 48 gallon fuel tank.

Thank you for the detailed response, I guess what is surprising me is that, from all the talk on the subject, I was under the impression that 48 was all the module would accept. What you are saying is, even though we are entering 55 and the module accepts it, it is only calculating off a 48 gallon tank?

Maybe this is why Titan is assuming it "takes the information" because you are able to save it and read it back?

I do know that my DTE changed from around 125 to 185 as soon as I saved it but that could also be the math difference between a 34 and a 48 for 1/4 tank of fuel. Guess I will see what my DTE says when I fill it tomorrow and go from there.

I am not wrapped up about it being totally accurate. Our goal here was to have extended range while towing our travel trailer. My wife gets anxious if we have to refuel at smaller stations. This will give us more fuel that we would ever travel in one, possibly two days.

Following @ZooDad post dated Aug16, 2025 (post #176), my understanding is this will inhibit my 2026 Platinum Plus 6.7HO from going into auto regen but where/how will I be able to tell it to regen when I want it to?

I think a couple folks that mentioned the dealer changed theirs to 55 are experiencing just what you referenced above. Appreciate the details and all your help with Forscan.

I'm a little curious about this as well.

From the earlier post, the picture shows the Vehicle Settings menu where you can disable auto-regen, but where/how do you tell the truck to perform a regen?

I was finally able to make the changes as described.
Worked just as @ZooDad stated.
After the changes were made using Forscan in the "Plain English" mode, all I had to do was turn off the "Auto Regen" in Vehicle Settings, just as described, there was a pop up on the instrument cluster and in the lower right corner there was a symbol just like in the image below.

Has anyone figured out the "dark mode" settings. When I open the door, I would like the interior cutesy lights to come on but I don't need splash screens, taillights, or the daytime running lights. As is, I feel like the battery will be dead if I open the doors too many times.

I’ll piggyback since I finally got into my truck today with FORScan. I successfully didn’t everything I wanted…except the chimes. How do I turn off the chimes right at the beginning of startup? I disabled what I thought was that one and apparently not.
