This might have been discussed already, but is there a way to make it so that the steps don’t come down automatically when you get close with the fob in your pocket but the lighting still happens?

I like the lights turning on when you walk up to it at night, but I don’t need the steps coming down every time I walk by my truck just seems like it’s going to make them wear out that much faster.

Yes, there is a way to do so, but I do not think you need Forscan for that. I do not have my truck back until tomorrow to check where it is, otherwise I would let you know.

I turned it off on my truck as one of the first things as I found it annoying.

I do know how to shut it off, but it shuts off the steps from coming down when you get close and it also shuts off the lights exterior when you get close and I’m only wanting the steps to not come down but the lights to still come on.


If you figured out how to do that, that’s awesome

It’s my understanding there’s no sensor for it, just a switch that trips at 8 psi.

You can add a sensor between the oil filter and engine, but that will require a separate display.

The name of your highway there would be the allegorical opposite of a byway I passed recently where I observed a new signage that had not been there two years prior.

This being in an ag/mining region of central valley in California, and the route is named Brown Material Road. I got a kick out of that when pondering any proverbial or provincial names humor.

Kinda like "Pucker Factor Corner" if there were ever such.

I'm with ya there. Not so much for the wearing out part, but the battery drain. Approach lighting I like. But the steps open fast enough when I open the door.
On a side note, can you disable the auto door lock (when you walk away) but still have the auto unlock/ approach lights/ steps when you lock ot manually? I never lock the truck at home.

Same. That's why I used the owner's manual method. The seat map with the red/green lights goes away after 15-20 seconds. Good enough for me.

Man does this bring back painful memories. I've never been much of a software guy (hats off to you guys) but dabbled in repair of the leading systems in the microcomputing world with Intel development systems. Back then the big four processors were Intel, Zilog, AMD, and soon, Motorola which were used in HP equipment. Funny thing was though; Intel made the system to emulate many of the others. Intel, I believe was the first microprocessor in a chip in 1971.

Does anyone remember 8" floppies with hard and soft sector versions? Paper tape printers and readers? (Teletype)

Yes AsBuilt backup procedure captures all changes.
Plain english is just a menu/selection based method of changing AsBuilt.

I can’t remember where I saw it but does someone a way to correct the dte for the S&B 60 gallon tank? I don’t think it’s 100% accurate but it’s closer than leaving it reading the stock tank. I know S&B is releasing something November 1st for it but I’m impatient.

Plain English. Chain tank size to 48 gallons. Best we can currently do, I believe.

This kills the chimes, seatbelt indicator (red guy in the seat) and removes the red/green seating map

Since I have the “fog off while tuning” disabled, the turn-side fog now turns off when the S1s are on and I hit the blinker.

Is there a way to enable the fogs to stay on independent of a turn? If they’re on while driving I don’t want them turning off when the blinker comes online. If they’re off, I don’t want them coming online while turning.

Forgive me if I have glossed over your post and missed the details, but how about selecting your fogs as your DRLs?

I think that can be done in the infotainment system. Under Adaptive lighting, turn it off. Just a guess, but that's what I recall doing to keep the fogs from coming on in a turn

I suspect that there is a pressure sensor but Ford doesn't want us to see actual pressure because it will be all over the place due to the variable oil pump. Normal pressure at idle would be low at 2500 rpm so instead of giving us actual pressure they just give us Normal or Low for the given engine speed. Not much better than an idiot light.

I posted this on the powered boards thread but thought I would put it here also...

"The powered boards are driving me nuts. When I set them to out, they retract above 2mph and revert back to "auto" mode. Is it possible to raise the ground speed at which the boards automatically retract and prevent them from reverting to "auto" in FORscan? I would like them to remain out when I get out of the truck and then retract around 20mph. I had to re-order the truck to get these powered boards because I wanted them integrated into the vehicle but now I'm thinking that might have been a mistake..."

For my typical usage on the farm, these boards are sometimes moving up and down 20+ times/hour. To mitigate this I sometimes reset them to "out" just before I key off but that is a pita and doesn't fully solve the problem.

Just bought a 2026 F350 Platinum Tremor. So far love it. It replaced a 2011 F350 Lariat.

I have Forscan and the ODBLink EX dongle. Been able to turn on Bambi mode and set the TPMS to 50 for each tire, no problem.

Would like to get the 12V dash port to be enabled after the rig is turned off. My understanding is that the factory default is 75 minutes. However it is turning off immediately after turning off the vehicle.

However both Plain English and direct register reads show 1 second:

726-57-01 0001 0102 5831

I wrote the upper word to 0168h (or 360d) with Plain English. Wrote and then cycled the ignition. Was still powering off at turning off the truck.

Is this the correct register for a '26? Am I missing another register/step?
