LEDs can be in reflector housings from the factory. Projector LEDs are the upgraded option on higher trims. If you turn your headlights off and they shut off immediately, they're LEDs. Halogens will fade out as the filament cools off when power is removed.

It was sort of a rhetorical question. I’m 99% sure they are LED’s part of the Sport/ Premium package on an XLT!!!!! Only reason for my 1% doubt is I’ve never really stared into them from the outside…

Ohhhh careful now, as if we didn’t insult the rich class enough with the massaging leather seats and tramp stamp comments there’s already threads dedicated to that overpriced, unreliable, HEAVY, oil burner that us in the know avoided.

Honestly, even the XLT trucks are pretty cush these days, compared to days of old. I just hate cloth seats. I seem to attract static electricity everywhere (lifelong curse). I would die if I had cloth seats. Even in my platinum, there’s a small gray strip in the leather that has a rough texture to it. If I exit just right, that charges me up too! I have to grab my door and ground myself before I move anywhere. But regardless of trim level, all these tremors are sexy beasts!

Maybe for some people. You couldn’t give me a modern diesel for my purpose. Sure they’re powerful for towing (obviously) but nothing about my truck would be enhanced with a diesel. ULSD isn’t available outside the US, and 600 or more lbs over my front axle is completely unacceptable. I don’t have even the slightest regret about the 7.3L with 4.30 gears on my build. Again if I towed massive things, the diesel would have been the first box checked but for 99% of people I think the 7.3L stands head and shoulders above the oil burner. I do have a strong affinity for the old ones though…. 12V mechanical injectors, no emissions bullshit, but today’s over priced and over complicated powerhouses just don’t do it for me.

lol camper cost almost $18,000 more than the truck…. Hahahahahahahaha. Like I said I bought an XLT because it’s what I wanted.

Agreed all the Tremors, and modern vehicles in general are leaps and bounds ahead of what some of us grew up driving. I’m still baffled and confused about things like massaging seats and panoramic sunroofs on trucks…. Guess I’m just getting old.

How many times are folks going to bring out that argument about projectors being superior to reflectors.

The reflectors on my 23 are brighter and crispier than the projectors were on my 22. I tested both side to side when i had both trucks in my possession for over a month so I know exactly what i’m talking about. It wasn’t even close.


Here’s a tutorial for folks who might benefit from understanding the differences in applications.

Right…. They are reflector LED’s. Whatever the that means…. I just think they are LED’s per the packages I have. Not sure the difference honestly. But it seems like the above post might help me understand. Either way I do think they’re LED’s…

Stuck home with Covid and mindlessly scrolling, trying to find the bottom of the Interwebs, I saw threads on here for the “premium” Tremors but not one for us simple folk.

Now don’t get me wrong those other trim levels are fine for the asphalt cowboys/ cowgirls but we all know the XLT is the real American man’s truck.

No multi contour massaging seats, no two tone paint jobs, no 6ft wide tramp stamp across entire backend. Just a real American made, honest to goodness truck. Made to do truck shit.

Now I’m fully prepared to be roasted as a poor, and a pheasant for not having seats that massage my buttocks but when I ordered my truck the XLT was the one I wanted, not the one I settled for.

Anyone else love their XLT’s for the rough and ready, sweat on your brow, dirt under your fingernails trucks they are? Or did you buy it because that $100k limited cost more than your 20 year old double wide?

So no one thinks I’m being too serious here I drive a prissy little Tesla daily, and while I am a Union Mechanic I hate to get my hands dirty as much as the rest of you Platinum owners.

How do you come up with these one sentence absolutes? Do you have actual proof or you’re just saying because you think so; It looked so to you on a paper spec?

There’s plenty of folk on FB groups who complain of various issues with 23 projectors. some were not happy with the beam pattern, intensity or beam cut off points compared to previous years. Others claim that auto leveling doesn’t work properly. I have seen exactly zero complaints about 23 reflectors so far.
