Wiper blades?

Best Wiper Blade Replacements

When Safelite replaced the windshield they offered to replace wiper blades. The chattering and skipping of the factory blades was driving me nuts, so I had them replace. They're perfectly quiet and work well. Thumbs up for Safelite beam blades.

The blade edge peeled off my passenger side wiper on my way to the dealership to get some dents removed and chips touched up, so I picked up a new pair of OEM Motorcraft blades while I was there. I don't drive the truck much when there's snow, ice, or salt on the roads, and I tend to replace my wipers yearly in the spring so I was long overdue, but I made it two and a half years on the last pair before they started streaking. Pretty dang good, imo.

Ordered an OEM set off ebay (part # ML3Z-17528-A) , seller NCENTRAL2014 (Ford dealer in Richardson, TX) for $22.03 ea & Free shipping.

Finally installed the OEM wipers I bought 2yr ago. Factory wipers weren't wore out but not cleaning as good @ around 3yr and 32,000 mi. And my truck isn't garaged. I wouldn't think of buying any other wipers.

I buy the Bosch at advance auto. I also purchase the protection plan for $5. It's a 2 year 100% replacement plan. Streaks, skips, damage is all covered. I just go back 23 months later and say they streak. Get another pair and I'm good for another 2 years. It's like getting a 2 for 1 deal. I've paid or 3 sets on a 10 year old truck.

That's really good to know. I seem to replace wipers about every 6 - 12 months or so. For some reason, they just don't hold up.

Tried the Bosch Focus and they sucked. Skipped so bad a week after installing them when driving in a heavy downpour they left black marks on my windshield.

Went to the PIAA Super Silicone and those were great, but are now skipping less than a year later.

Now am trying the Bosch Icons. Hopefully these will last longer.

I swear the quality of the Bosch icons have gone downhill in the last couple years. My trucks have never been garaged and I used to get 2 years on a set. The last 2 sets I put on got 1 rainy season and I replaced after the first real rainstorm the second season because of skipping and streaking

The Bosch have done me right. The truck is garaged which helps. I may branch out and try something else next. Ya never know. I'm really picky about wiper blades.

Trying to pick the right blades just wipes me out 🤪.

Welp... so far not impressed with the Bosch Icons. It rained today in Dallas and when I turned them on, the bottom the the blade was skipping. Then after driving for a few minutes, I was stopped at a light (with a lot of water on the windshield, and both blades the full blades skipped across the windshield. They also skipped at highway speeds as well, but not as badly (or maybe I didn't notice as I was too focused on the road) as it did when stopped.

PIAA provides a wipe for the windshield that I have an extra of. I'm going to give that a try to see if that improves the performance of the Bosch blades after being installed a week ago and not used before today.

I’d strip the glass and apply some Rain-X or similar. First thing I do if I get any chatter.

Thanks for the tip! I typically apply Rain-X (but didn't have a chance to do it after my most recent wash) to all the windows. I've never stripped them before, usually just give them a good wipe down with Perfect Glass window cleaner and a regular microfiber towel followed by a lint-free micro fiber towel before applying Rain-X.

3 months now and still like new, they haven’t skipped a beat. Ironically, this blade seems to be better than some of the more expensive ones i had in the past, including oem one from factory which was toast in less than a year.

Next update in another 3 months.

I want to update this thread. As a total shocker, my pair that i installed back in Nov-Dec 2024 is still going strong. That’s a second winter with it and it still wipes like new, i have no reason to change it just yet.

Now i was thinking that at this price it’s a 3 month blade not a year plus blade, but i have to say that compared to oem blades and bosch icons…whatever, this has been the best blade for me. Durable as fuck, all the winter crap and summer heat, it wipes as on day 1.

Today i passed by them in Costco, on sale again. I already have 3 pairs from last year’s sale and two pairs of bosch icons which i likely won’t even use.

I replaced my ailing Bosch blades with the Costco Michelin a couple months ago and so far I'm pretty impressed. I was concerned they wouldn't be able to remain pliable in sub freezing temperatures but so far they're doing fine. I'd agree with some of the comments here that Bosch quality seems to have dropped off in recent years.

I seem to have this whole situation all wrong... 😕 everytime I need new wiper blades I have replaced the truck!

Haven't bought wiper blades in well over a decade lmao 😂 likely will though, with this truck as, I intend to keep it past extended warranty for a change 😅

I removed the wipers as soon as I bought the truck.

Which ones are you using ? We don’t have costcos around here when I go to the Michelin site there’s 5 different beam blades

I'm still rocking the OEM blades - exact same ones that were delivered on my truck 4+ yrs ago! I have another set ready to go on when these finally give up the ghost. Maybe it's because I take my truck through a full contact carwash? 🤷‍♂️
