Yessir. I just needed go buy a shouldered mount for the can. Should be here this week. 🤠
Vermont is such a beautiful state, but it must be a strange place for gun owners. With Brooklyn-Bernie at the helm, Canada to the north, New York to the West, and Massachusetts to the south you probably can’t drive an hour without violating some law. And Vermont is about half the size of a county where I live.

Still, so beautiful up there. Lots to love. I’d just feel like I was behind enemy lines. :ROFLMAO:

It’s true. It’s been a pretty safe little place for gun owners. We lost the 30 round mags a few years ago, but other than that - pretty easy to have what you want. It is an island, though. I remember going to Maine and driving home with an AR i bought
on the same day while a guy from (I think from MA) was cranky that he couldn’t.

Wrapping up this build this week. Waiting on a few final items to properly level/mount the scope.

300 PRC. Very excited to get this sighted in

Nice setup. Your optics choice is top notch. Action? I see a fluted bolt. Barrel? I see it's carbon fiber and what suppressor is mounted? The bolt knob looks great too. Is this a Christianson Arms?

Black or stainless?

Why, yes! Yes, thank you.

So, here's how it went down:

I have had a couple of Springfield "Loaded" 1911s; one Parkerized, the other an "MC Operator" with a black Armorycote slide and a matte o.d. green frame. I've since put the crossed-cannon cocobolo grips on it from my first Loaded and it looks pretty nifty. Shoots just fine. The Loaded 1911 from Springfield has always been a terrific value for a solid, reliable, accurate 1911 w/ some nice features (hence the term Loaded). Personally, I think they put this model together from the old Gunsite Service Pistol days that never fully materialized for Jeff in the good years of Gunsite Academy. I digress.

I have for over a decade lusted for a Springfield TRP, but California... we get the original spec TRPs here (CA Safe Guns Roster bewlsheeit) and it seems only once-in-awhile. The stars had never aligned with my wallet, see.

So, fast forward 10 years to two years ago: a shooting buddy who's son manages a gun counter calls and announces "Hey! They got a just got a TRP in stock! Want us to put your name on it?"

"Is it blued? (black Armorycote, actually)"

"No. Stainless".

Eh.. WTH. Might be long time again before another one comes along!

Do the deal, wait 10 days, bingo. Stainless TRP... but it wasn't blued (black).

Four days later, "Hey! They just got a black TRP in their Springfield delivery this morning..." but I had to wait for the One-In-30! to play out before we could start the 4473...

Long story longer? Bingo. Now I have two TRP - one black, one in stainless. But for the dough I could have now had a Professional (which I may never shoot up to, so the TRPs are just dandy).

Photos? Buried. Should take new ones. I'll edit this one in the next 24 hours w/ pics. Cheers.

[Edit - one 3" Kimber CDPII (Officers sized), four Springfield Gov't-sized - all chambered in .45]

Pure precision SKLTN titanium action. I bought their carbon fiber stock as well. Proof research barrel. Suppressor I purchased over 10 years ago, I think back then they were called Dakota silencers, Varminator or something like that. They rebranded and own Silencer Central and it's now the Banish brand of suppressors. I like them. Overall weight as it stands currently, without mag/ammo/sling, is 7.5 pounds. Feels great

I’d love a MEUSOC or any variation of the USMC 1911. I remember when you could them new for a couple thousand, now they’re worth double apparently

Shot my 1890 Winchester (Model 2 - Takedown) today. It has been in my family since the day it was first purchased (5 generations). It only shoots .22 shorts, but it shoots true and cycles every time. I don’t shoot it much, as it is in very good condition (100% original ) and I don’t want to wear down the octagonal barrel any further. But, since I was out with my son shooting some other guns, we pulled it out and put a few rounds through it, pretty soon I will be passing it down to him.

I’m a Texan with a house in MA on the Cape. I love the cape, but MA is so pants on head retarded on gun laws that it hurts.

My stress level flying through Boston that I might have missed a shell casing in the three times I scrubbed I my bags before the flight is high.

A little sad when you consider the history of MA pretty much being the guys that told the British Empire to FOAD.

Oh well, striped bass still need catching at the rips.

Don't even...

I console myself w/ owning and shooting my small collection of 1911.

I've updated my Post #894 with pictures, but here's one just for you, in an attempt to better show the o.d. green frame but the lighting's not great.

Too, all four of these Springfields had stainless 2-piece guide rods, but I've removed them and put G.I. guides, springs and plugs in 'em for an easier field strip.

Love it.

Reminds me of the .22 marlin 39a I learned to shoot on. Just missing thumbscrew on receiver for takedown.

I’ve been looking for a marlin to teach my kids to shoot on my the nostalgia of it all….the prices are crazy now though when I find em
