What’s in your gun safe?

It depends on how serious you take things how much you want to sink into it, bows are kinda like computers lol get what you pay for and they’re out of date the following season lol but my recommendation would be don’t screw around if you think you’re going into it full force go with either Bow-Tech or Mathew’s you can always sell it and get back at least half your money, then you get into the build out I’ve always used a single pin adjustable on the fly sight like HHA with a peep in the string and a drop away rest not a fan of whisker biscuits I don’t like anything touching my vanes on release
I was thinking mid to upper mid range I typically like to buy once cry once and that range usually seems to fit the bill where especially when starting new itll keep you happy for some time before your skill gets to a point where you'd actually benefit from a better bow.

9mm
7mag long barrel
12 gauge pump short barrel with pistol grip
Fully automatic Co2 pellet gun
22 single action rifle

Then it seems the 2 brands I mentioned would be perfect as by default they are the upper end but also there’s different levels by each brand if that makes sense

I have a full auto pellet gun too. So much fun but finicky. I believe it’s the Panther Arms model.
Mine is sig sauer brand can’t remember model but it looks like a AK47

dont have a safe , live in TX

I would recommend finding an archery shop that sells as many brands as possible and shooting them all. Even as a beginner you’ll feel differences. What feels comfortable for you may not be comfortable for the next guy. Like anything, you can sink a lot of money into your setup, and like said before, the new bow this year is old news next year. I’m partial to Mathews myself, and I like HHA sights, and QAD drop away rests, but Bowtech, Elite, Hoyt, APA, and PSE are all great bows. I like having one adjustable pin on my sight, or even one fixed and one adjustable pin to keep it simple. It really comes down to what feels the best to you, and what you want to spend.

If you and your son get into archery, I recommend shooting 3D courses when you can. It’s good practice shooting, guessing ranges, and great bonding time. Good luck and have fun.

Included a pic of my son with his first 3D bullseye.

I've been a lifelong hunter but never got into archery and don't know anyone personally that is. I'm looking to get into it does anyone have any reccomendations on a good compound bow to start. I've watched reviews on YouTube and such and they are all over the place. I also know it's challenging so I'd enjoy that aspect and learning would also love to get my son into it as well with me.
Two seasons ago was my first archery season. I decided on the Hoyt Torrex XT. Still 1500 kitted out It’s a good entry bow, but It isn’t going to break the bank. This year I opted to custom build a Hoyt RX-9 and I have been waiting on it for a little over 12 weeks. That said it will end up around 3500.
I wouldn’t waste time on a lower level bow regardless though as resale is horrible and if you do decide you like it the xt is actually a great bow!

Hoyt or PSE are my recommendations. I have had a Bear and Bowtech as well. All depends on your price range. Nothing wrong with a second hand bow for a couple hundred bucks and decide if you still want to or not.
