What’s in your gun safe?

Love the XDs too. EDC is just a plain old XD45. I like the glocks for the simplicity. If I could carrry one in the commy state I live in it would be a G 19x. They are relatively cheap and go bang. I don’t need a fancy gun I just need a gun that goes bang when I need it…..hopefully never but be prepared
I’ve loved the 45ACP forever and when they offered the SA-XDM in 45 for a short season, I snatched one up. That’s the black one in the middle of my picture in comment #460. Best part is this 45 holds 13+1 with the same grip size as the 9mm to the right which has a 19+1 capacity. To the left in the photo is the 10mm with a capacity of 16+1.

The really nice thing is all the full sized XDMs, as well as the XDs, share the same holster form, regardless of caliber. You can buy single holsters of different styles and use any gun of choice with each holster, reducing the total number of holsters to own.

At the end of the day I’m just like you in that it must be always reliable to go bang, and feel good in my hand when I use it. I’ve never had a misfire or jam in any of my Springfield pistols.

For years I was very partial to the Browning High Power. When you get used to a certain feel of a gun in your hand, that design will always "feel right" to you. Both Springfield and CZ have been making pistols for quite a few years that more or less copy the design features of the original Browning HP. Here's some pics for comparison. Needless to say, I'm almost equally partial to all three designs because they feel right in the hand.

But I do really like everything about the SA - XDM lineup.

Most of my pistols are Springfields. Reliable and fit like a glove.

XD 45 mod 2 is one of my favorites

If you are looking for a comparison between the 19 and 43x I’ll post some pics. I carry the x most simply because my wife has an easier time pulling the slide back on the 19

Any of you 1911 lovers baller enough to own one from Cabot Guns? They are a few miles away from me and they make some of the sickest 1911’s (especially the special editions) I’ve ever seen. Also will make you pretty much anything you can dream up custom wise. Some day. Some day. 🤤

I’ve owned a couple Cabot’s.. Both were their “base” models with my favorite being the Icon. Their gun of the month club specials are incredible! Unfortunately those are nearly triple the price of the models I owned. Check out Bunker Arms, small custom builder out of Florida. Top notch percision built 1911’s, truly one of the best 👍🏼

I’ll also say I sold both Cabot’s for either Wilson’s or Nighthawks.. For the same price ballpark I feel they’re better.. Cabot’s special editions are in a different league but also in the 20-30k ballpark 😳

Haven’t bought any new ones in years. Part of the problem is California. I think “bend over, pucker up” is part of the process now.

Anyway, before the boating accident I had a Glock 19, S&W 686 Plus (7 shot 357, 4 inch stainless), and a Remington 12ga pump.

If I am willing to bend over and pucker up, I’ve had my eye on a M1A Scout squad, 18 inch walnut

I’ve had AR’s a few times in the past, but have decided not to play that ridiculous game with the state anymore and sold them.

Note to moderators: This post is not intended to be political in any way. I’m just agnostically stating facts about the state in which I live.

can't wait for warmer weather either working with 338 Norma Magnum looking to stretch it out a bit to 500yards and longer

Very nice !! I’d like to get something similar one day. Largest I have nowadays is a .308 I’ve not gotten many chances to stretch my legs out past 300 yards.
