What’s in your gun safe?

I don't know who that is but I like it!
Great TV series about a Sherrif in Wyoming. Worth a watch when you got nothing better to do.

Above mentioned R&D testing…

The camera glitching from the concussion of a 10.5 5.56 with a dual port brake from 20' away is cracking me up.
When my son was 12 he got to shoot a Barret 50cal. He was laying on a tarp and the muzzle brake wrapped him up like a burrito. I was amazed the muzzle brake eliminated almost all recoil from the gun.

That is awesome! Fluid dynamics are a strange animal - I design firearm suppressors in my "free" time.

It's a lot of effort to lug the 'ol ma deuce out but it's certainly fun when you have enough space and good weather.

Is that M2 transferable or are you an 07/02? I've always wanted to fabricate a stock for a 1919

It’s a transferable Ramo, but I am also a 07/02.

Post sample m2hb are still quite expensive, and much harder to sell later on due to the considerably smaller market (which is further reduced by nature of it being so big, heavy, and consuming 50 bmg).

I posted some pictures of my transferable 1919a4 earlier in this thread. I have an Israeli a6 stock/bipod/flash hider for it, so no need to make anything, but I’ve seen some pretty wild 1919 modifications with people adding entire shrouds and collapsible stocks.

Good to see another manufacturer on here! Had to go back a few pages. That HK is so sick...
That’s one of my business partners guns. He’s been on an E gun kick for the last few years, buying up parts kits and components. He has three of them right now, with a couple more in the pipeline.

The one in the pic is a E spec for the internals but the shroud is 21 length instead of E length. Used a hk91 for the receiver, all German parts throughout. Runs perfect and he also has the 23e parts so he can swap calibers in a few minutes.

About a decade ago I had a michaels machines 23e (but it wasn’t really e spec) and it never ran right. Sent it back a few times, feed mech broke, total clusterpluck. Mike Otte was terrible to deal with. I haven’t had much interest in them since, but the all German stuff seems fine as long as the builder knows what he’s doing. It’s hard to stomach the cost of building them, though, especially when the current price on *just* a 21e feed mech is $10,000+.

Also, recoil is quite stout and cyclic is fast, so after the first shot you’re kind of just holding on for the ride when it’s on auto. M240 is much easier to shoot.

Happy f-around Friday! Here's a suppressed Mossy SBS w/Vang Comp system (lengthened forcing cone and backbore), Magpul furniture, and a Silencerco Salvo12 suppressor. Below that is one of our law enforcement specials and my main gal - 11.5 Sionics complete upper (guaranteed to run for life, including shot out barrels) on one of our McKenzie Gunworks full M16 cut mil-spec lowers with the spicy hole, Gei$$ele Ultra Duty LPK, Gei$$ele Super Select-Fire M4/M16 trigger, Forward Controls ambi select fire safety selector, Forward Controls SBCG, Eotech EXPS3, and an OCL Polonium to shut her up.

Not in my gun safe, but a client's. His 6yo boy gifted him this pistol last year (with help from his mom of course) and he wanted to know if it was even possible to have the boy's handwriting from the card that came with the gun engraved on it. I digitized the handwriting, had him pick the spot, and hit it with the fiber laser real quick. I've never seen a guy leve the shop so excited about an engraving. Glad we got to make it happen for him.

Never thought about this… but man that tugs at my heart strings. That’s awesome. I’ll keep this in mind when I get my son his first rifle 👍🏼.

So many pics of guns in the safe (or on benches) that I thought I would post one that couldn’t be saved. This is one of my kids with a Garand at about 80’ off an island in the South Pacific. The leather strap was still attached and had survived being under the sand. It broke and did make it back with us.

Probably from one of those poor unfortunate Tremorites that lost it in a boating accident. :( 🫣😁

I lost everything I had in a boat sinking accident too. Damn it seems to happen to often. Im working on replacing one before Colorado adds a 6.5% excise tax on April 1st. It’s not a joke, but it should be.
Cheers 🍻

I don’t have any guns...
Me neither. I’m law-abiding, and the newly arrived transplant majority in my state wants to ensure that only the criminals have guns, so I haven’t replaced mine since my boating accident…. as far as you know.

But if I DID have guns, I would want to store them in a quality gun safe.

I used to buy crappy gun safes. At least they kept the kids out of the guns… But the transplants have also helped us develop bigger crime problems, with more sophisticated criminals, so people who own guns should have a high quality safe now.

The video linked below shows how easy it is to defeat a low-quality big box safe if it can be tipped over. My safe weighs 1650 pounds empty.

I’m a big proponent of buying used TL rated jewelry safes, as they typically cost the same or less than the overpriced sheet steel safes but offer real ratings, TL15, TL30x6, etc. They do weigh a lot, even a 48” TL15 is over 2,000 lbs depending on construction. You wouldn’t want to place it on anything except a slab, and you need someone that knows what they’re doing to transport, unload, place it, and level it.

Perfect set up.

The Oregon Legislature has you in its crosshairs…. Even as I write they are working on gun control/elimination bills. The majority there wants to be more like New York than New York is, which is strange, as most of the folks in the majority of the Oregon legislature are actually from California, Wisconsin, New Jersey and, oddly, Texas. :ROFLMAO: :eek:😭

The only problem with them is, like all quality safes, they take up a lot of space for the limited storage they provide.

The solution I like best is the hidden safe-room approach. Several of my friends who have built new houses or done extensive remodels have built really cool hidden rooms into their homes. The best of them is behind a floor to ceiling bookshelf and is only about 6’ deep by 12’ long — enough room for lots of storage, a reloading bench, a fridge, battery backup, and the DVR and monitors for the home security system. It’s super slick, well engineered, and not very expensive to build if it’s done during initial construction. (Hiding the DVR ensures that any captured video doesn’t leave with the thieves.)
