What have you 3D printed?

Looking for a custom 3d printed mount -

I am looking for a custom 3d printed piece that will fit inside the side step pocket of a 23+ truck and allow a Baja s2 flush mount light to mount vertical within the pocket. It will need to secure to the existing pocket, and hold the light. Due to the angle within the pocket you currently have to mount them facing down, and I would like them to face outward or level, so I can maximize the light output.

Positioning the light seems pretty straight forward, that can be solved with a simple wedge. It is the mounting aspect (wedge to pocket and light to wedge) that needs to be sorted.

Here is a pic of how it currently mounts, please let me know if this is something you will contract out for me.
I might be able to help ya.

Most of the strobe type setups have a shade/blinder (of sorts) that fits towards the glass. You could play around with the setup to figure out a sweet spot.

Shout out to @CaseyJ for helping me out with this print/project - Here is what I have come up with for a design and dimensions. Does anyone see any issues with this?

Sorry for the crude mock up, Powerpoint is the extent of the "design" programs I own.

If you want it perfectly horizontal, you'll want a (info deleted )

Also, i would have the wedge mount to the truck using fasteners that are hidden by the bezel (recessed). Then i'd mount the S2 to the wedge using heatset nuts. Even if you have holes already from mounting S2s your wedge will cover them up.
This will make it so you can have a flat mount point on the back side instead of the bolts coming through at an angle.

If you want it perfectly horizontal, you'll want a 25.5 degree wedge to match the angle of that spot you're mounting to. The one in the above design photo is 20.9deg

To get this angle keeping the face dimension the same, change the base to 1.183 (from 0.95) and the hyp to 2.748 (from 2.655)

Thank you for exact angle needed, my eyecrometer was apparently off :).

I understand the issue with the fasteners at an angle on the back. My plan is to use some wedge shaped plastic washers to offset the angle on the back side. This will keep everything as simple as possible for this version 1.0 - proof of concept.

I will update my original drawings with the new measurements. Thanks!

Just print the angled washers :)

Done with the initial design. I will test fit it to the truck in the AM after I get off shift.

Welcome back! Where the hell you been? Still making the cup holder LED's?
I'm still around I just don't post much lol. I still make the harnesses, I need to finish the newer SD cup holders but there wasn't really enough interest in it for me to continue.

Anyone interested in a similar design but with a Baja designs, S1 let me know I got that drawn up too. That’ll be on the printer later today as for now I’m on my 1 hr drive home and then head to sleep until I come back on nights tonight.

More updates inbound, this should hold it secure and not allow any vertical shifting.

I had somebody purchase three of my Starlink router headrest mounts, which I thought was odd. After talking with him for a few minutes, realized that he doesn’t even need it for that application. He was just trying to make something work so I work with him for a bit to get my model changed to fit his needs.
Now I’m making light bar mounts that will mount a 16” light bar onto the headrests platform. This is the one that it will be holding. https://a.co/d/03Ik2XKf
The buyer sent me photos of his lightbar mounted!

The 6.7L and 7.3L use a different oil cap and have different neck angles. The 6.7L is an 8 degree angle and fits none of the other ford engines. The 7.3L funnel fits MANY modern ford models.

I designed, print and sell a MEGA version for the 7.3 and 6.7 with a Tupperware style lid for the top and a twist to lock cap for the bottom. A vent tube isn’t necessary believe it or not… they’ll take oil as fast as you can pour it.

If anyone else prints one, definitely make sure you’re using PETG as PLA will turn to jello with extended oil contact.

I’ve probably sold 100 or so on the forum thus far, but at $85/shipped, it’s not for everyone.

@PilotGore, do you sell the file? I have a printer. TIA

Could you ask him for a lights on video?? That would show people if there's any in-cab reflective as well as how they look on the outside.
