Tremor Payload??

“Installed” this removable leveling kit today. Pallet of bricks, curious how much it weighed but my payload is 2953 on the f250. But I’d really like to see a similarly equipped f350 tremor 7.3 xlt perm, to know exactly what my payload is, not just the derated sticker

Your GVWR should be 9990(or 9999 or 10000) on an F250... A CCSB 350 should have an 11300 GVWR. So your payload +1300lbs roughly... 4253 give or take...

Im expecting my loaded Lariat minus sunroof to be ~4000 payload.

Oh man, very nice. That’s the only reason I jumped to an f250. Payload in my 16’ f150 was pitiful. Bottomed the springs out many times (sorry new owner…) towing really want much of a concern.

‘22 KR 6.7/250 Tremor with every option except winch, lower than I’d like, but fine for my towing needs.

its a wonder how the numbers can vary even if the builds are the same or very similar

I drove my 2022 KR F350 7.3 across a Cat scale yesterday. Full load of fuel and tools and gear I normally carry in the truck.

She weighed 7,960lbs. Subtract that from the 11,300 gvwr and I have 3,340 pounds available.

How close was it to the window sticker?

No one has one that can hold 6 people…was curious if that upped the rating.

I have one but haven’t posted my sticker in this thread yet. Having the extra seat doesn’t seem to up the load rating from what others are posting. GVWR doesn’t change with the extra seat 11300/11500 F350 10000/10800 F250 gas/diesel without de-rates.

The front bench won’t change the payload by much. As @2020Tremor said, it wouldn’t change the GVWR so you only get the difference in weight between the two options.

GVWR - Curb Weight is the payload capacity, so those values are the only way to change the capacity.

Ha ha. Not close at all, as mine has the 10,000gvwr derate. I think the sticker says 2,209lbs, so add back the 1,300lbs paper derate and it would be at 3,509lbs which is awfully close to what I calculated above from an actual scale with difference being weight of my tools and gear. My truck is also a heavy build in that the only option i didn't select was the adaptive cruise.

I know this is always a subject of debate, but I get the 10,000lbs derate so I can hook up my 16kgvwr trailer and still be at 26,000lbs total gvwr if I get hassled by a cop on the side of the road and thus not in CDL territory. I have never heard of Barney Fife breaking out a scale in my area, but if we get to that point, then I start claiming exemption as a farmer under Texas law. Just my strategy, fwiw.

Just curious, is there a licensing benefit for going with the derated 7.3L F350 to 10K vs the 7.3L F250 which is also rated at 10K?

They do around here. I see it about once a week.
I'm a couple miles off a major interstate and when people pull off to get gas, they are more than happy to give you a free weight check.
They focus mostly on business trucks (signage), not so much personal vehicles.
But if you have a dually with a trailer, you are more likely to get stopped either way.

I just did the opposite for my F350. They gave me 10k plates. I had to bump it up to 12k plates.
GWVR is 11,300 either way.
But I plan on carrying a camper, so I know I'll be over 10k for sure. Should be under 12k.
But can still tow a 14k trailer.

Licensing weights are very different than actual weights.
You get in a lot more trouble for not paying taxes than being illegal around here.

Not in Texas. My understanding is in some jurisdictions there is.

Ok so I have to ask, then... Why not save the money and get the 250?

Not who you're asking, but this is a tough one to answer since we "know" the 250/350 are the same truck (with same engine).
Correct. I made the decision to go F250 for a similar line of thinking to the statements made by @Avslash . One thing that comes to mind is with the 350 you get a higher GCWR. I was fine with 24.9k for my uses. Perhaps the extra rating was the motivation since he stated he has a 16k trailer...
