Those of you who follow this thread (and give a flying fornication, and have a decent memory) know that I lost my dear Cricket near the end of May this year. My wife and I were devastated and felt for a time that we couldn’t handle that heartbreak again.

As each day passed after a period of mourning, we both started to feel like the house was too quiet and we really missed the extra life form if you will, in the house along with us. So recently we started talking about getting another dog, and both of us started looking online at the adoption sites.

We adopted Cricket from a shelter, and we both thought that mixed breed mutts make for incredible dogs. A few days ago my wife saw a post for a puppy up for adoption at a Humane Society a few counties north of us. I guess some inconsiderate individual dumped her near a golf course and thankfully another person found her and bought her in.

She is absolutely adorable, but she’s full of energy, spunk, attitude, and bravado. Right away we both decided that she was a real “pistol.” So her name came obvious to us at that point.

Tremor family, I’d like to introduce you to the newest member….here’s Kimber.

Thank you @Modman. She’s a total sweetheart, but she’s very headstrong. She’s definitely going to take a little more time to get into the swing of things with us. Of course anyone who has ever had a puppy knows that they can go from angel to devil and back in seconds…all while looking incredibly adorable doing so. 😆

We lost a warrior today. My sons (USMC) Doberman Roscoe died. Too soon at 4 years from heart failure. My GSD and him were besties. I took care him when they were on vaca. We at the BRISKI home are sad to see him go…

Man, do I hear ya! Took me 2 years getting over losing my Lab! Now I have an 18lb little shit mini schnauzer that thinks everything revolves around him. We don’t get them near long enough but if they live there best life that’s all that matters! Life is better with a dog in it! 💯

Hell yeah brother! I'm sorry to hear about Cricket but Kimber will be just fine! Keep us posted with all the silliness that she does. 😁

When it's time again I guess you just know. :)
Congratulations on your new family member and may your time together be a celebration of this new life and a remembrance of dear ones gone away as well.

All my best to you and your son. They become part of the family in no time. 4 years is way too short of a time to spend with a pup. I’m sorry for your loss. I know how heartbreaking it can feel. 👊🏼

@Sludgemonkey44
Glad to read this! I shared your story about the Desert Storm Marine with my friend who just lost his Springer Spaniel.

Well hold on now; do some of them have licenses and what's their monthly insurance rate? Where exactly do you sit!? I have more questions but let's start there. 🤪
